NHL 2008-09 Season

Dude, he helped your Ducks win a Stanley Cup.

Are you losing confidence in your Ducks' ability to try and do well in the playoffs?

Going into this particular season, it was a given that the Ducks had a struggle on their hands with the likes of San Jose getting so strong. The fact that they cannot (at least to this point) really gel as a team has me thinking it will be the very bottom of the playoff rung at which they will find themselves if at all.

Granted, anything can happen in the playoffs...but the Ducks cannot compare to the elite teams like Detroit and San Jose. Not this season. :(

Let me just say this:

Your Ducks made it all the way to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals as a seventh seed.

My Sabres made the Stanley Cup Finals as a seventh seed with a team consisting of Dominik Hasek and 20 guys named Moe.

Sabres,

I agree with you...did I not say that anything can happen in the playoffs? Just watching this team (painfully lately) game after game I do not see them going too far post April 11th.

Why are the Rogers Sportsnet games on Center Ice so freakin bad? They were by far the BEST looking PQ games last season, it's bad on CI and NHL network when they had a CHL game a couple weeks ago. The highlights on NHL on The Fly must be from an HD source b/c those look fine.

Which CHL game did the NHL Network show? I don't remember that, sorry I missed it. Do you mean the world juniors?

Talk is that if things don't imporve Pronger may get dealt. That would be heavenly for me. He has been one of the reasons the Ducks have such a bad rep with nasty hits and penalties. Some of it is deserved, some of it is not. But, I for one would welcome Pronger's departure sooner than later.

Would love for the Rangers to get Pronger. Unfortunately Sather has one dollar and 48 cents left in cap room.

I vote for boredom.:up

:up No baseball, no football. NBA and NHL are currently in the dog days of winter. February is a down time for sports. Once March rolls around, we'll have the NCAA Tourney to distract us. Once April rolls around, Baseball will be right around the corner and the NFL Draft to mull over.

No, just some of the posts.;)

Good games tonight...

7:30 Columbus - Pittsburgh

Really rooting for the BJ's to make the playoffs for once. They're on the outside looking in right now, but withing striking distance. But who would have thought we'd use Penguins and 'withing striking distance' in the same sentence in February?

7:30 New Jersey - Atlanta

I just don't get the Devils. The more players they lose, the better they become. Now they get a chance to fatten up on a weak Thrashers team, something the Rangers couldn't do...at HOME!

7:30 Montreal - Buffalo

Sabres catching up to the Rangers and Flyers, but this is a tough one. Habs are my dark horse team to make the finals.

8:00 Nashville - Minnesota

Preds are another team I'm hoping will make the playoffs. This is a huge game for them. They're within striking distance themselves, but have a lot of teams to pass over. That's not easy.

8:30 New York - Dallas

Sather is making the trip. Big news. He's going to talk to Les Jackson about starting the process of sending Sean Avery to the Rangers' AHL affiliate in Hartford. I'm usually an idiot, but I may have gotten this one right. I've said all along the Rangers are the only place I see him playing in the NHL this year. This is a 'no excuses' game. Stars played (and lost) last night in Colorado, while the underachievers were snug as a bug in their Dallas hotel rooms.

Beanpot Finals
8:00 Northeastern - Boston University NESN

Northeastern going for their first Beanpot since 1988. They beat BC in the semifinals, while BU escaped a major upset by defeating Harvard.

BC and especially BU have dominated the Beanpot for the last two decades.
Harvard and especially Northeastern have been perennial bridesmaids.
