Good games tonight...

7:00 Washington - New Jersey

The Devils have not lost a step since Brodeur went down. Does this mean it's more the system than it is Brodeur?

7:30 Florida - Toronto

Panthers hanging in there, Leafs are not.

7:30 Pittsburgh - Montreal

Wow, the Penguins need some wins in a hurry. Almost time for them to start keeping an eye on Panthers' scores.

8:00 Phoenix - Nashville

Coyotes part of the wild chase for the last four spots in the west. Preds not quite part of it at the moment, a win here would help.

8:30 Calgary - Dallas

Stars have got it going on right now. Climbing up the west standings slowly but surely.

9:00 Chicago - Edmonton

Good matchup here. Blackhawks playing well, but they've been on the road for a while. Could be time for a letdown against the Oilers.

10:00 Carolina - Vancouver

Canes are another team the Penguins should be keeping an eye on. At this point I'm really glad the Rangers did not sigh Mats Sundin. Canucks started heading south when he joined them.

I'm not a Ranger fan in any way shape or form, but that was a class A ceremony. It was nice seeing all those legends on the ice with him.Graves was a class act.Kudos to the Rangers people for putting on a great show.I especially liked the Sopranos cast coming out on the ice. That was great !

I did get teary-eyed. I didn't mention the game because I didn't think it would be a good one, and I was right.

But yes, while Garden management has proven they know nothing about putting a good team on the ice, they do run first class ceremonies like this. The only thing missing was Bruce Springsteen showing up himself.

Unfortunately, watching such a wonderful tribute being paid to a man like Adam Graves makes me think the whole current team should be taken out back and have unspeakable things done to them...since they have nobody with half the heart of Adam.

That includes our wonderful GM, who in 1991 said he would 'retire' Adam Graves. Instead he traded Adam to San Jose for minor leaguers Mikael Samuelsson and Christian Gosselin. Yet another bad evaluation of young talent by Sather.

Sather can (and probably will) be GM here another 20 years and he'll never come close to accomplishing what Adam did in New York. And he'll never be half the man Adam is either.

The "Edmonton Genius" will be GONE by the end of the year if the Rangers can't make a good playoff run.

You heard it here first.

Your lips to God's ears, but there is no way that will happen unless Sather quits. Dolan is a combination of too stupid and too lazy to get rid of Sather no matter what happens.

Sandra, if you were in charge of the Rangers, what do you do?

Blow up the team and start all over?

Trade for a hired gun ala Hossa last year?

Hypnotize King Henrik into being your loverboy? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D (Sorry- couldn't resist.)

Take a page from Donnie Walsh's book. Get rid of the bad contracts, although that's a lot more difficult in the NHL than it is in the NBA. Redden's contract is a joke and there are five more years of laughs to come. Drury is a nice player but way overpaid. Gomez is overpaid too, but I'd hold onto him. You can't teach speed.

Draft well, trade for players who fill the needs the draft doesn't fill, and sprinkle in modest free agents. Not ridiculously priced free agents. Every year there will be hired guns available cheap at the deadline...IF you have cap room to use. We don't.

The team could use Sean Avery back, and needs a bonafide goal scorer. We may not have even one player reach 25 goals this year.

And get a power play quarterback, since Redden's days of running a potent power play are long behind him.

Oh, and also find Hank a nice model to date (if he isn't already), since I'm now totally occupied by my current very nice (and very good looking) boyfriend. :)

Thus ends one of this site's longest, and most entertaining running gags.

It ranks right up there with Paul Wozniak blasting the Lions, the three way Cleveland/Cincinnati/Pittsburgh bashfest between HD MM and fans of the Bengals and Steelers.

OT: can you imagine if this site ever got a Ravens fan? Oh man, that would get ugly!

Well, waiting for Hank to call wasn't working so well for me...:)
