NFL 2008-09 Season

No they don't. Maybe the talentless Raiders do, but not any team the has a championship pedigree.

LMAO...according to who? YOU? Are you willing to bet that IF your beloved Patriots had the chance to draft him when he came out of college, they would have taken him....??!! Please, I doubt you are not THAT DUMB nor THAT STUPID to believe that....I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt....

Players like Winslow are the reason the Browns will not be successful like other organizations. Funny they hire a guy so they can emulate the Patriots, but yet they don't learn from them in player personnel. You think teams like the Steelers, Colts or Patriots would put up with someone like that? Of course not, that is why they win, team first, not me guys.

Are you kidding me?! Did you not hear what I said? This guy is still getting a bad wrap based on one outburst back when he was 20-years old! He's since grown up and is the ultimate team player. He improves our offense every time he sets foot onto the field. You know absolutely nothing of KW2 or his character.

Browns TE Kellen Winslow on his suspension

By the Associated Press
Tuesday, October 21, 2008

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow released a statement Tuesday night after being suspended for one game without pay for conduct detrimental to the club:

"First I would like to say that I am disappointed that my organization felt the need to suspend me for speaking out regarding my medical situation with staph. I take responsibility for the fact that there might have been a more constructive way to release this, but when I tried to do so I was discouraged from making the issue public. Regardless of how this was released the information would still remain the same. I contracted staph, again.

"I spoke out on this because I felt it was the right thing to do and that is why I was so passionate about it. This has nothing to do with football and this has nothing to with my current contract situation. This is a health concern.

"Please understand I care deeply for my organization, my teammates, and the Browns fans. At no time was I ever trying to cause distress for the team or be a distraction but the fact remains there is a health issue that needs to be addressed further.

"I remain loyal to the Browns organization, my teammates, the fans and the city of Cleveland. I remain a hard worker on and off the field in support of my teammates and our goal to have a winning season. I hope to be a Brown for a very long time. I know that the organization and I can move forward and focus on having a successful season, which I believe everybody agrees upon."

LMAO. :up

Not since he came to New England, and got out of the dysfunctionality in Oakland, seems that turned out to be a Oakland problem, not a Moss problem.

Lets see, they drafted Vince Wilfork that year. Guess the Browns know more than the Patriots.

Ben Roethlisberger:D drafted after "fu**ing soldier". Yeah ok, 99%.

Again some teams know what they are doing, and some don't(BROWNS, RAIDERS)

I don't blame him for speaking out. People thought the worse because they said nothing.

So when he was in Minnesota...it was a Viking issue?

IF I am not mistaken, the Browns pick was in the 6th pick....Wilfork was 21st....are you saying that IF the rolls were reversed and the Pats had the 6th pick, they still would have taken Wilfork with Winslow available?? You really need to let go of the crack pipe....;)

2001 they drafted Richard Seymour at pick 7, ESPN was stunned could not believe they passed on David Terrell. Seymour was on ESPN's board in the late teens. Seymour is a 4 time all-pro. Maybe you should know a teams history, before making a jackass out of yourself.

Yeah, that New England franchise does EVERYTHING right. Every draft pick they ever made is dead on. How dare we argue that the Browns' Kellen Winslow pick at #6 was a bad decision in the '04 draft?

Hind sight is always 20-20. Personally I think the K2 pick was a good one. If you don't, great. Just don't go on and on spouting off different examples of how your precious team drafts well. There are many instances for every team that a GM would probably do differently if everyone knew what they do now.

For instance, in 2006, do you think the Pats made the correct choice in drafting Laurence Maroney when they could've had: Joseph Addai, DeMeco Ryans, Marcus McNeil or Devin Hester instead???

Absolutely on Addai, they mis-judged on the same position. They others were not need positions.

No TE is ever worthy of a top 6 pick, considering they needed a QB, and Roethlisberger was right in their backyard.

Say whatever you want about the Patriots, seems like their methods work

we were talking 2004...the same year Winslow and Wilfork were drafted....WHO was talking about 2001 and Richard Seymour??!! Maybe you should follow some of your own advise....

Um ... Go, Vikings?

Did anyone catch the Vikings fan during the MNF game?

Where's all the headlines and hype for Giants/Steelers?

It's the first 'big-game' this year between two strong teams, like how a year ago, there was like the Patriots/Cowboys/Packers/Colts trifecta.

Chris Cooley disses Braylon Edwards in a "Limerick"?!

In Chris Cooley's Blog, recounting last weeks game.....

“Big game this week for the Skins
We hit the Browns in the chin

The game was rough
But, we were tough
And left the field with a win.

Clinton ran wild again
Santana scored with a spin

Z made good calls
Edwards dropped balls
Snyder now has a big grin.”
While getting dissed — if that’s even the right word here — in rap songs is commonplace by now (see: Jay-Z/Stevenson; Shaq/Kobe) the verbal barb in old-timey poetry is a rare thing.

The question is how Edwards should form his rebuttal. Cooley went limerick. Does Braylon go sonnet or Haiku? :D
