NFL 2008-09 Season

There is a God! The Lions are blacked out this Sunday! First time they failed to sell out since moving to Ford Field in 2000(?). I hope it's a nice day outside, if it is, I'm going to take the little rugrats to the park.

Paul,
Come on down here if you really want to see the game, it's on at 1 and I don't have any games that I must see at 1.
4 pm on the other hand is the Steeler's and Giant's :D

A DVD on the history od Cleveland Browns has just been released; I'm sure HD MM is salivating at that.

I didn't think TV's were around back when the Browns were good. Probably why most people fail to remember when the Browns were actually a dominant force in football. :D (Back in the Otto Graham and Jim Brown days).

Anyways, if this DVD is just rehashing all of our past playoff disasters (Red-Right 88, The Fumble, The Drive), I've been tortured with that video way too many times now. I don't think my heart can take the beating again, so I think I'll pass on this one.

Thanks for the invite, but we made plans to start house hunting. We want to move by next summer. School system here really blows, and my youngest son turns 4 in March.

Don't mean to break up your fun, but where exactly are you? If you are in the Toledo DMA, you won't be watching the Lions on WUPW or Sunday Ticket--the NFL made sure of that.

It's a good buyers market right now Paul. :up The bad thing is that it's a bad time to sell. Chances are most buyers are also sellers, so things about even out. Good luck. BTW, don't rule out NE Ohio. ;)

No more cupcakes for the G-Men.

They loaded up on patsies, and got blown out by Cleveland, which I think exposed their 4-0 start as the product of a soft schedule, almost Texas Tech-esque.

Now, they have a murderers row schedule: Steelers, Cowboys, Eagles, Cardinals.

If they don't win at least twice, then it proves their strong start was masked by a pathetic schedule- Rams, Seahawks, Bengals, 49ers.

I'm sorry, Bill- I know they are defending champs, but let's see what happens when they play their first REAL OPPONENT since week 1. No more pansy opponents!

Plus they have to play the Redskins again at their place.

That schedule isn't as tough as it looks. Romo will be out for the Cowboys. I'll take Eli Manning over a 57 year old Brad Johnson any day. The Eagles look like they're in line for an 8-8 season. The Giants can definitely take them. And the Cardnials haven't proven much to me yet. I chalk up their win over Dallas the same way I do the Browns win over the Giants. Just one of those go figure type games that doesn't prove much about either team in the long run.

Actually , it may be on , on the HD side of the ST.
All the other times that a local game has been shown on network, the SD has been blocked but the HD side is accessable.

Looks like brainfry's prediction may come true.

The Carolina Panthers are the NFL's biggest overachievers.

Nonetheless, I don't like them.

They just irk me- there is just something I can't stand about them- they are so boring and predictable, and I can't root for a team whose star sideout attacked a teammate.

The NFL feels less exciting when the Panthers are good- I can't stand them.

Jake Delhomme is the NFL's most overrated player!

Whatever. This is redemption for Jake Delhomme, John Fox and a defense that was gutted the last couple of years. And it's good for long suffering Panthers fans who have seen their team play their best football on the road over the years and stink up the joint at home. This year? The Panthers are 5-0 at home.
