Thats funny !

I suppose they could kick off from anywhere they wanted as long as they are not past the 35 and lined up correctly !

I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that's not true. I think a rule is a rule...but again, just a guess on my part.

From Wikipedia:
"Changes were made regarding kickoffs to limit injuries. First, kickoffs will be moved from the 30 back up to the 35-yard line, repealing a 1994 rule change. In addition, players on the kickoff coverage team can not line up more than 5 yards behind the kickoff line, minimizing running starts and thus reducing the speed of collisions.[39] Other changes were also proposed, but a number of players and coaches expressed concern they would actually significantly reduce, if not eliminate, the number of kickoff returns.[40][41] Proposals that would have brought touchbacks out to the 25 instead of the 20, and eliminated all wedge blocks were not adopted."

Bill, how many touchdowns will Brady throw for this year?

I say he slightly drops in TD production, and the picks go up just a bit.

Last year, it was 36 TD's to 4 picks.

This year, I say 32 TD's and 9 picks (I think the TD's will go down a bit because Lawfirm and Woodhead will put up TD's inside the 10).
I'll say more on both....41 TD's and 14 INT's

Has anybody mentioned the rumor that the Patriots might cut Haywood & Ochocinco?

I would laugh if they cut Ochostinko !

From what I understand, neither player played in their last(only) exhibition game.

See if they play this coming weekend ...
Ocho doesn't need no Practice !

Hardly any Patriots starters played on Thursday, I wonder if they're all getting cut, also?

Ochocinco has practiced everyday of training camp, so far.

I'd give fat Albert a 10-15% chance of getting cut, Chad on the other hand has a 0.0% chance of being cut. What a ridiculous rumor started by Dan Pompei.

*Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth might not be long for New England. One day before this story came out by my guy Mike Reiss, one NFL executive familiar with the Patriots ways told me he believes one or both of the big name acquisitions will be cut before the season starts. The front office man thinks coach Bill Belichick will use the controversial players to help control and send a message to his locker room.

Belichick doesn't trade draft picks to send messages. What a stupid thing to write by a guy who doesn't seem to know how things work up in New England.

Wonder if Suh will try and break McCoy in half. If a Steeler did what Suh did last week it would be the lead story on every Sportscenter.

He's a Lion though, so nobody really noticed.

Have fun trying to get past the wall that is Joe Thomas/ Eric Steinbach.

Notable stat from last night: Texans defense set a franchise preseason record with seven sacks versus the Jets.

But of course, it's "only preseason", so the Jet's siv on the offensive line is nothing to be concerned about. ;)

Ok, enough with the talk about Sunday Ticket in here. Go to the Directv forum where they have several threads about it.

The 2008 Detroit Lions were 4-0 in the preseason....then went oh-n-16 .... JUST SAYING!;)

Intersting tidbit from AFC North Insider, James Walker.....

Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy spent a couple days this offseason with future Hall of Famer Brett Favre to learn the West Coast offense.

Morning take: This was a wise move by McCoy. He couldn't learn the offense from coaches during the lockout, so McCoy sought help from someone who played under Browns president Mike Holmgren.

Really? the 1st game of preseason.....?! And unless the Browns scored ALL 27 points in the 1st 2 offensive series, Colt had very little to do with it. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.;)

Not to sure about the Jets offensive line but I would expect huge improvement with the Texans defense. Say what you want about Wade Phillips but he has had a lot of success as a defensive coach.

Wow, this is the weird thing about preseason games...the teams are wearing the same uniforms as regular season games, the fans are paying the same price as regular season games...but that's where the relationship to the regular season ends.

The main outcome of preseason games is individual battles between players fighting for the same position on a team...more often than not backup positions. And, of course, injuries.

Most of the rest is not what it seems.
