Edwards had a good season. All I said. Hopefully Plaxico will have a better season.

Oh, that's right. I forgot the Jets signed Plax. I always liked his game. The big question is whether or not he'll be in football shape after being away from the game for so long.

Definintely a question mark. Mr T is rolling the dice here...hopefully it comes up 7.

Congrats Salsa. Not sure how he's going to fit in with your team's salary cap issues, but you got your TE replacement.....

Well THAT happy thought didn't last long....

...There is way too many little injury things happening in Raider's training camp!!:wtf::(

Raiders RB McFadden out with broken orbital bone
By JOSH DUBOW, AP Sports Writer

NAPA, Calif. (AP)—On the day the Oakland Raiders were supposed to be able to see their whole team practice for the first time this training camp, they were missing one of their most important players.

Star running back Darren McFadden(notes) was sidelined a day after breaking an orbital bone in his face and is expected to miss a couple of weeks, according to coach Hue Jackson.

McFadden left practice early Wednesday with the injury. He delivered a hard block on linebacker Quentin Groves(notes) in one drill, but Jackson did not say if that caused the injury.

“He’ll be fine,” Jackson said. “We’ll get him back out here and keep on rolling.”

Merril Hoge explained his stance on Tebow yesterday:

Hoge also appeared Thursday on ESPN's "Mike and Mike in the Morning," saying: "They think it's a personal attack. It's purely a football evaluation ... I never said he's a bad guy. In fact, I know he's a great guy. I've met him. It's a football evaluation based on over 25 years of studying this league, working in this league."

Hoge added that part of Tebow's issue is where he was drafted -- the first round.

"The skill set he possessed in college is not a first-round grade. No how. No way," Hoge said.

Braylon Edwards, in Cleveland, was the type of guy who could make 10 amazing catches, but drop the easy ones.

Still hard to believe that he was so unstoppable for the Browns back in 2007.

don't make me put up that YouTube video of stone hands dropping passes Rey.... ;)

i know but that was with the browns lol....... last year zero drops with the jets. no joke. hehehehehe......

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Your team lost their two best players and have a new coach this year. I'm not sure how you improve from last year unfortunately.

But as stated in many reports, as great as they were with Oakland, we didn't win WITH them. The ONLY surprise loss was Miller. We sort of expected to lose Nnamdi. The Raiders are good enough still to win the West. Obviously you did not read the article, it explains clearly with detail information...not 'fanboy' hope. That is why I said there was information there that somewhat proves Sandra's point regarding Nnamdi.

According to some sources, Stanford Routt and Seymour DID rework their contract!!! AWESOME!!

Cornerback Stanford Routt and defensive lineman Richard Seymour have adjusted their contracts, as expected to help the Raiders get under the salary cap.

Like true leaders, they sacrificed money now for later to help nice needed players...! Nice!

Former Raider Rich Gannon sticks up for Tebow...

I thought Hoge had some good points as to why he thinks Tebow is not very good right now, but I LOVE Gannon's response to all those linemen and running backs that USE to play that suddenly are QB experts:

“It bothers me when old running backs or old offensive linemen who’ve now become analysts start analyzing the quarterback position," Gannon said. "They’re not experts at it. They’ve never played the position. I’m always curious, when they put on the tape, what are they watching? Are they watching footwork? Are they watching mechanics? Are they watching anticipation? Do they understand what the quarterback is told in terms of the progressions, where the read is? You know, so those are the things that really bother me and I just thought he came out and his comments were very strong and I thought a little out of line when you talk about Tim Tebow.”

Gannon said he thinks Tebow will succeed in the NFL.

Sorry, after the FA week the Raiders had...this is AMAZING news!

Not only did they sign a better than average, TE, they also signed a damn good human being!

Boss was a much-improved blocker over years and a talented receiver who may have been underused in the Giants' passing attack. He caught 35 passes for 531 yards and five touchdowns last year. He also caught a huge, 45-yard pass at the start of the fourth quarter in Super Bowl XLII that helped spark the Giants' comeback in their epic upset of the undefeated New England Patriots.

The 27-year-old Boss is also one of the nicest people I've ever covered in the NFL. And if you want to get a little taste of why, read this story I wrote on him for the Daily News in Nov., 2008.

Kevin Boss can relate to brotherly love
BY RALPH VACCHIANO

When Giants tight end Kevin Boss dreamed up the "Giving Thanks with the Bossman" contest that ran on his Web site in September, he figured it would be a simple way to give back.

He'd ask fans to send him e-mails telling them what they were thankful for and then reward the best entry with tickets to a game and a handshake.

But then he got an e-mail from David Giegerich of Warren, N.J.

"I am thankful for my older brother Paul," David wrote of his 42-year-old sibling. "He is my older brother and I am very proud of him. He has also taught me and my family more about the true meaning of life and family than I could ever have imagined."

David's e-mail wouldn't be that out of the ordinary except for the fact that his brother has Down syndrome.

"As soon as I read David's letter," Boss says, "I knew right away this is the one."

When writing the e-mail, David says he wanted to keep it "short and to the point." He thought "I'm not going to write a huge, long letter. I'm just going to say what I really feel." What he wrote, though, struck a chord with Boss.

"The love between the two brothers is something that kind of hit home for me," Boss said. "I've been real close to my brother and it's real inspiring to me to see them so close. I think that kind of tugged at my heartstrings a little bit."

So when David and Paul Giegerich found themselves on the sidelines at Giants Stadium two weeks ago as Big Blue squared off against the Ravens, a good game, a handshake and maybe a few photos were all they were expecting.

Imagine their surprise when, in the middle of pregame warmups, Boss jogged to where they were standing and in front of a huge crowd, gave Paul a big, warm hug.

"He engulfed my brother," says David, 39. "And he said 'Hey, glad you guys got here. I'll see you after the game.' There's 100 people standing around looking at us like 'Who the heck are you guys?' and my brother just ate it up. You have to understand, to give him that level of attention..."

That was just the start of a memorable day for Paul, a lifelong Giants fan making his first trip to see his favorite team. Boss, 24, treated the two brothers, along with David's father and son, to the thrill of a lifetime. He posed for photos, brought them into the locker room and introduced them as "my friends" to Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning and other teammates. He talked with them for an hour after the locker room closed and had dinner with them.

I think I read he failed his physical. The replaced him with a 38 year old Mason. hmmmmm....

Meh. Cotchery was a good Jet...nothing special. They signed Mason for one year. Let's see what happens. Hopefully as third option Mason can be a good possession receiver.
