Im not at all....you guys said ALL helmet to helmet hits are illegal, which isnt the case....I have said many times that a runner is allowed to be hit helmet to helmet which is the case here..where have I deflected?

And I said when a players launches and uses his helmet as a weapon (like Harrison does). So, who exactly are you talking about?

sure ya did. :)

If you're going to quote me, quote everything I say that pertains. Don't take me out of context.

Any runner is protected from THAT KIND of helmet attack, where Harrison launches the crown of his helmet into the runner like a missile. That's what I said.

Let's see what the NFL says about the McKoy hit. While you're discussing the Cribbs hit, we're discussing the McKoy hit.

Sandra

Actually I am showing precedence...and proving my ball runner fact from past cases...you guys are just blowing hot air and not really proving a thing but that you can talk alot .

okay I am going to end this run around. I proved you wrong by NFL rules already with the Cribbs hit, because he is a RUNNER he is not as protected as you think...anyways enjoy your weekend.

Just like you......

And that's a completely different situation, runner had his head down.

You proved nothing.

We'll see next week. I'm done on this subject.

your wrong, see Cribbs hit, which I have probed you are wrong, He Launched himself there and it was proven a legal hit on a runner advancing the ball such as McCoy was doing.

This is hot air too.

You're not showing precedence because the hits are not exactlly alike. They rarely are and you know that.

Because a person is a runner, that does NOT mean every hit on a runner is legal. You proved nothing...except that you're a Steeler fan.

he wasn't a defenseless player but any part of harrison's helmet should not hit the offensive player's helmet either. correct?

Exactly right. McCoy was out of the pocket, therefore he is fair game. BUT not by the opposing player leading with the crown of his freakin' helmet!

Here, I was looking for this and finally found it.

Rahim Moore led with his SHOULDER on this bang bang play, and STILL got fined 20K. How does this compare with Harrisons hit?

I'm not going to go back in this thread to find the video again, but didn't Hochuli rule that the flag was for roughing the passer?? That call makes sense and is correct because while McCoy was running with the ball he was still behind the LOS when he threw the pass and thus was still afforded protection as a QB. Helmet-to-helmet, or not...

Wow I missed out on a great debate lol! I'm late to the party but we will see what the NFL says about the hit. From what I know , McCoy was not a defenseless player but I believe that's an illegal hit.having said that ,not all helmet to helmet hits are illegal. I remember an interview with the commish last year when he was asked about this. It was mentioned that in a case of a runner for example, once he puts his head down and runs forward ,all helmet to helmet hits are legal.when a qb decides to run and puts his head down to try to run through tackles , a helmet to helmet hit in this case would be legal as well.anything else is illegal.

IMO he is going to get fined no matter if it was legal or not because he is James Harrison. He was behind the line of scrimmage so that will probably be the factor.

Last night after the game Deion Sanders said it was a legal hit because the QB while running changed his position and Harrison couldn't react in time and that is when he hit his helmet with his.

It's funny when a steeler player hits another teams player people always say that's a dirty team or that's a dirty player but when someone hits Ben or another steeler player it's ok.

I have to say is that Ben is a real football player always having something broken and still playing and winning, I also think McCoy needs to get bigger, he looks like he is 12.

IMO I think most of the people have hatred for the steelers because the franchise since the superbowl has started been more successful than any other team.

People hate that steeler fans are known for being the best fans in football and that when they come to your town there will be steeler fans every where.

Plus I'm sure other fans hate the terrible towel, especially since it's all over espn.

I agree. I looked at the hit again for the tenth time today.looks like an illegal hit.when you consider McCoy is not putting his head down and running with it ,it's a hit that was completely unnecessary.he was upright and passing the ball. If he wouldve been taking off tebow style then it would've been more acceptable. Truth is Harrison is known for head hunting and this was a case that a real hard solid tackle would've been best.I wish we saw more tackling in football and less launching .
