NHL 2008-09 Season

Down to about 10 games aren't we?

The Ducks have been known to do alot of things with ten regular season games, Paul. They could be peaking at the right time and take on Colorado, Edmonton and Vancouver before they have to deal with Dallas (who always plays them tough) and San Jose.

Or, they could have just peaked and will play .500 or worse the rest of the way!

Blue Jackets pull out another win last night against the Flames. This keeps them at 6 points up with only 8 games left to play. :)

The Red Wings are one win away from becoming the 3rd team to win 50 games in four consecutive seasons. The Bruins and Canadians are the other two. Both did it in the 70's. I don't want this to sound like bragging (well, it is a little bit), but again I'm surprised, that this was something the Oilers nor the Islanders accomplished. Those two teams just seemed to be dominant for so long, and I'm surprised to see the Wings surpass them yet again. I just never thought of this team as being in their category.

I wonder if drugs and/or alcohol were involved here :(:

Police say a passionate hockey fan made physical threats against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a series of phone calls to the team's arena during a game.

Columbus Police Sgt. Rick Weiner says 52-year-old Peter Stenzel was arrested Thursday and charged with inducing panic for threatening physical harm against the team during its win over the Calgary Flames.

Weiner says police traced the phone calls to Stenzel's Columbus home, where they found him wearing a Flames T-shirt. Police would not say if specific players were targeted or what the threats entailed.

Figures! First time Ohio has a decent hockey team, we got some jag-off "inducing panic"! WTF!?

BTW, you missed the best part...

“When they got to his residence, he was upset. He’s a passionate hockey fan.”
Oh! Then it all makes sense. Apparently, he was too upset to consider blocking his phone number from registering on the Nationwide Arena caller ID. The numbers were directly forwarded to the authorities, who promptly paid Mr. Stenzel a visit.

On an actual hockey-related front, the Jackets still find themselves in sixthplace within the West, two points behind the fifth-place Vancouver Canucks. The Flames, the victim of the 5-0 shutout, are now only one point ahead of fourth-place Chicago; five points separate third from sixth.

But hey, did you hear about that guy that phoned in a bomb threat? :D

BTW, this is the Calgary Flames fan that gets his kicks out of inducing panic in C-Bus...

Killer mullet dude..... :D

The deal is I won't visit the Duck Pond when Philly plays there & she doesn't go to San Jose when the Flyers visit the Shark Tank which I usually take a road trip for.She broke that deal a few times.LA is neutral ground. <lol> She is still a Flyers fan living there.
