NHL 2008-09 Season

BTW, am I the only one who does not see Detroit going far in this year's playoffs?

They are not very good when it comes to goals allowed (19th) and the West is stacked with top-tier teams in San Jose, Calgary, and Chicago.

Bill says the Wings are the team to beat- with that goaltending, they're not getting out of the second round.

IMO, they will lose to Calgary- Flames have the firepower to matchup, and Detroit' goaltending has been shaky at times this year.

Mark this down (especially Bill and Wings fans)- Detroit will go down in the second round. Teams that live and die on offense don't go far when they can't keep pucks out of their own nets!

Martin Brodeur won his 552nd career game tonight, which makes him the all-time winningest goalie in NHL history.

Brodeur is the biggest reason why the Devils are ALWAYS a Stanley Cup threat.

And YOU mark THIS down...........the Red Wings will step it up in the playoffs.

Count on it!

You are probably a minority when it comes to this issue.

I am not a fan of some of their sloppy play this season, but they usually step-up their play when they have to. They are a combined 8-3 this season against the teams you mentioned. I don't see the Wings having any trouble making it to the Conference Final. I kinda feel bad for San Jose...outstanding regular season play, but a punching bag come playoff time.

Ozzie has played poorly this season, but he is playing much better lately and I expect him to be focused come playoff time. Right now, Detroit is pretty much where they were at this time last season...leading the league in points.

IMO, they will lose to Calgary- Flames have the firepower to matchup, and Detroit' goaltending has been shaky at times this year.
I think the Flames have the best chance of beating the Wings of any team in the Western Conference this season.

Perhaps, but I feel the Wings will be much more focused on defense come playoff time. We shall see. I predict Detroit vs. Buffalo in the Finals this season...assuming the Sabres make the playoffs.

No way do I see Buffalo doing anything this season.

The East will be represented by either Washington, Boston, or New Jersey.

10-1-3:)

Beat a very good Boston team, moved up to fifth place.:)

11-1-3:)

Pens killed the Thrashers, which is what they should do, with a 6-2 win.

Malkin got 5 points to get over 100.

Crosby should also get 100 points.

100 point Penguins since Mario was drafted.

Yes. They're going farther than Buffalo, that's for sure.
