Paul, care to rethink that in the cold clear light of this Sunday Morning
8-1-1?
I smell a possible playoff Cinderella!
Cinderella? They are the defending Eastern Conference champs.
The Canadiens have struggled in their 100th season and started Monday in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but only one point above the postseason cutoff. What was supposed to be a season of celebration has turned into one of difficulty.
Don't forget Bill....
Boston Bruins (43-15-9, 95pts) vs.
Columbus Blue Jackets (33-27-6, 72pts)

I don't think getting the #1 seed is a big deal, Bill.
The Ducks and Hurricanes have won Cups as a #2 seed, and last year's Penguins were a 2-seed and got all the way to the Cup Finals
Make that 8-1-1
Impressive road trip the Penguins just finished. Won all five, for the first time in club history. They're on a serious roll.
Make that 9-1-1.
They are playing hard, next stop Columbus.
Crazy game in Detroit.
Red Wings take a big lead, give it up, tie it up, and lose in a shootout.
This is the third time I can recently recall Detroit not getting great goaltending (losses of 8-2, 8-0, and 6-5).
Bill, no offense, but goaltending like that will NOT win another Stanley Cup.
You tout Detroit as the team to beat; with that goaltending, I'm iffy.
9-1-2.
