NHL 2008-09 Season

If the Pittsburgh Pirates are the "lions" of MLB, and the Clippers are the "lions" of the NBA, who are the "Lions" of the NHL?

Good question.....Is there really a team in the NHL, that is not only bad, but real bad like 40 point season bad year after year

Maybe recently, but they have won the cup a few times in my lifetime. So it's a no on them. Blackhawks are my favorite for right now. They've been crappy since Bobby Hull left.

Then the Pirates can't be the Lions of MLB, they won the World Series last time in 1979, and they won their divion in '90, '91 and '92.

If he is going to fight he should have the sweater tie down strap on.
If he had that he would not have been thrown out of last night's game.

Had he planned on the fight , he would have ..... ya right...

Some of the Big Boys, still don't use the fight strap, those are the nights that they expect to get into it with the other top guys....

Too bad we don't have more fights in hockey anymore :(

Games were played much differently back when fighting was not a disqualification.
Teams were better back then too.

Good win by the Wings last night. Conklin has been an outstanding pick-up as Osgood is having a rough season. There are 13-games on the schedule today...with Boston, San Jose and Detroit all playing. I have the feeling we are going to see some outstanding hockey in this years Stanley Cup playoffs...with 6 or 7 teams having a realistic shot at winning it all.

Columbus Blow Jackets. This is the first season in franchise history that they may squeak into the playoffs. But there's still plenty of time for them to do their annual 2nd half nosedive.

The Sharks won, the Bruins lost, and the Wings are down 4-1 starting the 3rd period. The Wings are playing sluggish after last night's game, but their backup goaltender (Howard) is killing them. What's going on with Osgood? I noticed he was scratched...injuries? Ozzy needs to return to the team mentally and physically ready to play.

Oh yeah? And just how many times have the Blow Jackets gone winless for an entire season? Sorry, but the Lions have won exactly 1 playoff games since my birth in 1963. The Blow Jackets may suck, but my team sucks like no other!:p

Buffalo beats the Rangers, but Scott Gomez took out Ryan Miller's ankle.

Mark my words, Sandra- KARMA WILL BE A B-I-T-C-H FOR YOUR DIRTY BLUESHIRTS!

Gomez doesn't play hard enough or care enough to be dirty. But he is very fast, and arrives at places on the ice much quicker than you think he will. Miller mis-timed it.

Bad job by the Sabres not retaliating, though. I thought for sure the biggest cheap-shot artist in the league, Kaleta, would do something to Lundqvist. But all he did was wrap his legs around Markus Naslund's legs, forcing Naslund into a penalty when Naslund tried to get away.

The Wings played their 3 game in 4 nights, last night and it showed. They looked like they were wearing concrete skates. The Minnesota Mild blew them out 5-2. I sure hope Ozzie comes back recharged from his 10 day "vacation".
