NHL 2008-09 Season

The Wings played their 3 game in 4 nights, last night and it showed. They looked like they were wearing concrete skates. The Minnesota Mild blew them out 5-2.

No team can win every game or lose every game. EVERYBODY wins or loses.

The Red Wings are like those kids at school with perfect teeth, perfect grades, perfect... everything.

Jimbo, Wozniak- no offense, but you Wings fans are S-P-O-I-L-E-D.

I tire of the "all the world is sunshine and chocolate" Red Wings. If Marian Hossa was walking down the street, he'd find a $100 bill.

I just hope these perfect teeth kids get some cavities come playoff time.

He just got a nice round of boos in the 3rd period !

He got boos every time he touched the puck all through the game.
He also got boos when he was just on the ice.
It seems that the Wings can handle the sharks when they play in Detroit but not on the west coast. I sure hope that they can fix that little problem come playoff time.

Yesterday's game just underscores how important home-ice will be come playoff time. That game looked just like a playoff game - tight checking, and physical play was the order of the night. The score didn't fool me, SJ played hard all night, we caught some breaks around the net, they didn't. BTW, I think the "war room" jobbed SJ on what should have been their first goal. The ref was right there, and the replays didn't provide sufficient proof to overturn him. Just glad that wasn't the deciding goal. We would have never heard the end of it here. Don't understand what Lemieux is doing in the NHL. He looks slow and tired. Maybe his only reason to be on SJ's team is because of the Wings.

Spoiled? Maybe, but right now they are the only winning team in the city. (The Tiger's 1-0 record in spring training doesn't count.)

Don't be a hater.:D

That evil green headed monster is starting to show, maybe you're just jealous because none of your teams have won a championship.

Yeah I don't like the Red Wings, they beat the Pens last year, but they will be back.

Nice win for the Pens last night. Sports Illustrated had an interesting article about the Pens last week, and a great article about Pittsburgh and the Steelers the week before.

They need all the wins they can get.

I actually think they should just tank the rest of the season and get a lottery pick. Let's face it, that team will not go far in the playoffs if they make it.

So IMHO it's better to plan for next year, get a good lottery pick, do some trades and find some good free agents. I do hope they don't make the playoffs, they aren't far from a championship, and a good draft pick should help.

Your better off in the playoffs. Those extra games are usually the deciding factor on the profit/loss statements at the end of the year. No money = no free agents. NHL draft picks can be quite the crap-shoot. Zetterburg was a 5th rd. (or abouts) for the Wings , and Datsyuk wasn't a first rounder either. Actually most of our first rounders are still in the minors. We seem to be better at finding "hidden gems", than early rounders.
