NFL 2008-09 Season

I told my wife that i'd bet that Wash. had turned the ball over, leading to the TD, and I'd bet they followed that with there usual 3-and out offense. (Turns out I was basically right). I also told her by the time we came out of the next house we would be looking at, that the Lions would be taking a beatdown. And I was right again. I think they were down about 10 pts. or so by then.

Looks like I'm not the only one who can make good predictions!

Peter King was on today's Dan Patrick radio show, and DP asked him who would win first, Cincinnati or Detroit. After stating that there would probably not be an 0-16 team this year, he went on to "gurantee" that Detriot would win at least one game!!!...:shocked

I almost drove my car into the guardrail on I-65!!!...!sadroll

If I remember right, it was this game he said we would win. Idiot. (Peter King, not you.)

Let's play some True or False:

1. The New York Giants red-zone problems will come back to haunt them

2. The St. Louis Rams, with their new coach, will make the playoffs the following year in 2009

3. The upcoming Patriots/Colts will be a dud after last year's thriller

4. The Chiefs will win one game before their final game of the year against the Bengals

5. Albert Haynesworth will win the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award

1. The Giants vs. Steelers game may have been a preview to Super Bowl XLIII.

2. When will the Giants get respect from Sabresrule? They just beat one of the best teams in the AFC fair and square. The Giants Defense is without 2 of their best players from last year (Umenyiora and Strahan) and still dominated the Steelers offense by committing 5 sacks, 4 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles.

.
Boy is that a one sided comment.
You failed to mention that the Steelers played without thruout the game 7 STARTERS at on time or another in this game.
I listed them earlier, Starting RB(Parker), Center, 1/2 the secendary missed the second half. Punter pulled a hamstring, the Long Snapper was injured which is why they got the gift Safety and the ball in excellent position to go down and score the winning points.

Jimbo.

#1 - HD MM said the Lions managed to score in the first Q. Yeah, for the first time this season, and it took a Washington fumble deep in our zone for it to happen. Even a blind squirrel finds an occasional nut.

#2 - This defense continues to make opposing QB's look like Tom Brady. Campbells rating -122.7 a career high.

#3 - Ball control offense was supposed to be the game plan this season. 24 minutes of possesion, and 57 yds. of rushing. Maybe ball control meant they bought better jock straps.

#4 - Look for Drew Stanton to start when Jacksonville comes to town. Nothing puts fannies in the seats around here like a new QB. Outside of Thanksgiving day, I don't see anymore sell-outs, which means that I will have a few open Sundays to continue house hunting.

#5 - I'm running out of adjectives to describe this team.

#6 - It's possible (I'm not ready to declare this as fact), just possible, that the Bungles are even worse than the Lions are. Houston whipped us, but what they did to the Bungles wasn't right. I hope I'm wrong, I don't want the number 2 pick, or any excuse to keep Marinelli as coach. Yes, 1 or 2 wins might be enough for Ford to keep him.

#7 - First question for any potential GM candidate-
Will you retain Marinelli, and the scouting staff? If the answer is yes, the next statement should be - NEXT!

In our next episode of "Daze of our Lions" -
Will the Lions finally win a game? Does Marinelli get the hook? Does hell freeze over? Stay tuned for next week in "Daze of our Lions".

2.And to think , they revamped thier secandery this off season and are a lot better now

7. I don't recall a new GM EVER keeping a coach, unless he's a Top coach, Landry, Noll, Walsh ect.

Jimbo, injuries aren't an excuse. Every NFL team has them, including the Giants who the Steelers played against. Remember, their best defensive player is injured in Osi Umenyiora. With Osi, the Giants may have sacked Rothelisburger 10 times, instead of the 5 they got yesterday. Plus, the Giants didn't play Plaxico Burress until the second half (discipline reasons). With Burress, it's possible the Giants are more effective in the RedZone. But like I said, injuries aren't an excuse.

The Browns are not dead yet, in terms of playoff push AND the division.

Perhaps Cleveland should not play Winslow sometime soon? Is that a coincidence, possibly?

I had the same theory Sabres. Read THIS POST.

Anyways, is anyone else pumped for Monday Night Football?! I feel deprived of football since they didn't have a Sunday Night Game last night! My God, I love Football!

+/- 200 yards rushing for Chris Johnson & LenDale White?

WAY over.

If you thought Giants/Browns and Broncos/Patiots were lopsided, this will be a bloodbath on the field- the Colts will be pummeled.

Remember when Jacksonville stampeded all over the Colts in 2006? This will be just like that.

No Joseph Addai, no Bob Sanders.

We saw them get trounced in Green Bay- it's going from bad to worse for the Colts.

This is shaping up to be the AFC South's Waterloo- the day the Colts could be finally beheaded as division kings.

Burris played 3/4 s of the game, he came in at the start of the 2nd quarter.

Many of the Steeler's injuries happen IN this game, thats a different story ....
The saftey and the next points never happen if the Long Snapper doesn't get injured.

It's funny when they say their players are out and it's a reason but when the Steelers have injured players they say it's an excuse.

You know what sucks? The Lions can't use injuries as an excuse. (Kitna doesn't count, he's healthy, they just needed an excuse to look at the younger QB's.) They have been amazingly healthy. I guess you need to hit somebody in order to get hurt, something the "D" knows nothing about.

Do you think the new regime in Detroit will draft a good QB first, or another WR?
