NFL 2008-09 Season

"Daze of our Lions" (Humpday edition)

The Lions brought Daunte Culpepper in for an audition on Tuesday. KC is also rumored to be taking a look at him also.

Off the top of my head: Culpepper, Chilipepper, Blackpepper, what the hell are they thinking about? This guy wont last a half behind our line. If you're going to bring him in, why didn't they just keep Kitna? At least he knew the playbook. They have obviously decided that Orlovsky will not be here next season (he is a free agent), and so we will need some depth. But this move sounds like management still thinks we can win some games this season. (We won't.) It's time to look at Drew Stanton, and game film of the QB's who are eligible for the draft in April, not another brokedown QB. The stupidity around here never ceases to amaze me.

Got a question:

WHY did the Colts trade Marshall Faulk to the Rams?

Imagine if Peyton Manning had Faulk as his running back!

Faulk was traded to the Rams due to problems he referred to as "misunderstandings." Faulk had missed practices and at the time was considering holding out for a new contract. Colts president Bill Polian did not want his young team's chemistry damaged, so he traded Faulk for second- and fifth-round picks in the upcoming draft (used to draft LB Mike Peterson and DE Brad Scioli ). The Colts moved on at the position by drafting Edgerrin James in the first round.

I STILL think the Colts lost out big-time.

Super Bowl rings: Faulk 1, Edgerrin 0 (BTW, Colts won it all AFTER Edgerrin went to Arizona)

Just came across some tickets to the Browns vs. Ravens game this week!

Oh Yeah! Here we go Brownies, here we go........ Woof WOOF!!!!!:D:D:D

Cleveland is going to be chaotic come Sunday. I just found out that Bruce Springsteen will be performing downtown during an Obama rally. This rally is scheduled to start at 3:45pm (just as the Browns game will be breaking up). The rally expects to draw 100,000+ and the Browns game will have close to 70,000.

Given how bad the Chiefs have been this year,

I stumbled upon something that I consider absolutely stunning and hard to fathom:

On December 22, 1985, K.C. WR Stephone Paige had 309 recieving yards in a single game on just 8 catches.

Let me repeat that again: 8 catches for 309 YARDS! (And he had 258 by halftime!)

Must have been against the Lions :D

Daunte Culpepper has auditioned with KC and Detroit, and still no contract. If he does sign with one of them, what are the odss that those two teams were the only ones to have it right on Culpepper?

Decent, but just two weeks ago, Detroit Lions' receiver, Calvin Johnson had 2 catches for 154 yards. Half of what Paige did in 1985, but consider Calvin had just 2 measly catches!

That is a 77 ypc average for Calvin! Paige averaged 38 ypc in his 8 catch, 309 yard game.

If CJ could've got the ball more, he would've shattered Paige's stat.

Here's a fact that is good news if you are a believer in the Giants and bad news for me:

Super Bowl XLIII is in Tampa. The last two Super Bowls in Tampa- January 1991 and January 2001- had the Giants representing the NFC.

If is the biggest word in the dictionary.

"Daze of our Lions" pre-game edition

The Lions will sign Daunte Culpepper on Monday to a 2 yr. deal.

Whoopee! Hooray! Sign me back up for season tickets! We're going to the playoffs and the Super Bowl! The final piece is now in place! All my hopes and dreams will now be realized! Happy days are here again!

Goodbye Orlovsky, after this season. He's going to be a free agent anyhow, but it's obvious he isn't the answer. (Nor for that matter will be Mr. Chilipepper, Hotpepper, whatever his name is).

The over/under on Mr Blackpepper's career length as a Lion is 2 games. What was this immobile guy thinking? He will be killed playing behind our line. Amazing enough, he still might be better than what we have now, and he has Calvin Johnson to throw to. (When he's not being double-covered, that once, twice a game.)

I'm not so sure the Lion's really fired Millen. This smells to high heaven of one of his moves.

THE DETROIT LIONS - REBUILDING SINCE 1957!!!

Bengals 14............Jaguars 0.........2nd Quarter

Detroit, Cincinnati and KC all up by double digits at the half....

....WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE! :)

The Cincy and Jacksonville score really is screwed up, thats why they play 2 halfs, Jacksonville had BETTER win this game or thier chances of the playoffs are starting to dwindle ....
