NFL 2008-09 Season

Who would have thought that the Cardinals would have the same record as Pittsburgh?

BTW, I just realized something- why is it that when the Tampa Bay Rays had their great season, nobody was questioning how good they were, yet everyone is questioning Arizona?

Remember, the Rays were like the Cardinals of baseball until this season.

how old is the Tampa bay rays organization?

The Cardinals are not like the Rays. The Cardinals are a pass happy team that is taking advantage of one of the most pathetic divisions in NFL history. The Rays won the toughest division in baseball by beating the Yankees and Red Sox.

Whether you love or hate the Cowboys, you have to respect a player like Marion Barber.

Here's a guy with a broken rib who runs for over 100 yards.

What a tough, tough player. He's a guy who you wish was on your team.

BTW, with Dallas' win, I am 12-1-1 with my Sunday picks.

That was a heck of a Sunday Night game. I guess reports of the Cowboys demise were premature. That took a lot of balls to go for it on 4th down at the end and run a toss. That's the type of play the Cardinals don't have in the playbook.

Monday Night Football in Buffalo.

HD, IT'S ON!!

Oh, and it's supposed to SNOW in Buffalo tomorrow.

It's Snow Bowl, Part II- ARE YOU READY FOR SOME ICE-COLD FOOTBALL, MATT?!

BTW, the Lions are no longer on my personal Bottom 10.

Detroit and the Raiders are at least TRYING.

The Rams, OTOH, are a team with no heart, as we saw today.

fins barely escape the raiders. special teams hurt miami today. raiders started of with a lot of penalties but improved as the game went on. the combo of russell to their tight end worked well for them today. chad didn't have a great game today. miami's running offense did okay despite of a stingy raider defense.

Well....I wanted to wait till today to post. I was at the game yesterday and it was as I SAID it would. Close game IF JaMarcus and McFadden played...and though McFadden was a non-factor, the possibility of being one was a almost in the back of my mind. Not much we can do about the offense, it is still a knife at a gun fight. Janokowski makes that field goal....we could be talking a completely different game. JaMarcus had a efficient game but the running game had a tough day against a very good run defense....

...MAN if we had receivers....:(

Though there WAS a Ronald Curry sighting. We HONESTLY are a receiver or two away from being a decent team. The just can't get sustainable drives going to give the defense long enough time to rest.

And waht can I say about the Fat-Tub-Of-Goo Ryan, he had called a pretty good game of defense...then the Raiders take the lead and he plays that bull**** prevent zone defense?!!:mad: He sticks to the man-to-man...game over. Oh well.

.... And this is not directed at you Rey....

For the last two games, I have PROVED MY POINT that the Raiders have NOT QUIT...but just keep bringing a knife to a gun fight(they have nothing else). I would hope that some of that bull**** talk will end because ANYONE that knows a spec of football and has seen my Raiders play...they have not quit...!

NICE! I love snow and football! They go together like Turkey and Stuffing!

We got at least 6+ inches here overnight in NE Ohio. And whatever we got last night should be heading East. IE: Buffalo, NY!

Bring it Sabres!

Having your team play on Monday makes waking up for work at 5:30am, soooo much more bearable. I can't wait!

BTW, when I woke this morning and got my bearings and realized the Browns play tonight, I started singing that Manfred Mann Song I was singing all last week titled: "THE MIGHTY QUINN"

All together now........ :D

Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn

Everybody's building ships and boats
Some are building monuments, others are jotting down notes
Everybody's in despair, every girl and boy
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here
Everybody's gonna jump for joy

Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn

I like to go just like the rest, I like my sugar sweet
But jumping queues and makin' haste, just ain't my cup of meat
Everyone's beneath the trees, feedin' pigeons on a limb
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here
All the pigeons gonna run to him

Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn

Let me do what I wanna do, I can't decide 'em all
Just tell me where to put 'em and I'll tell you who to call
Nobody can get no sleep, there's someone on everyone's toes
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here
Everybody's gonna wanna doze

Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn

I can't wait for tonight! I love watching the Browns play in snow. It'd be even better if we were serious contenders.

what the raiders need more than anything else is a solid coaching staff. what i saw yesterday more than anything else was lack of discipline by the raiders and you have to blame coaching. raider D is tough no doubt. like I've said before, if Miami's QB had Russell's arm we would be all set. to me this game and the game against the chargers even though they were losses, i saw some good stuff from the raiders more than in other games. McFadden is a stud!

Miami better get their act together this week because it ain't gonna get any easier against the pats. i believe the toughest games remaining on their schedule are the pats and jets. two must wins if they want to have a good shot at the playoffs. i can't believe I'm talking about playoffs. fins already exceeded the expectations i had for them this season. what ever else happens good or bad I'm fine with.

Week 11: Monday Morning QB with HD MM

1. If there was a closer position in football, Marion Barber would be the Brad Lidge of the NFL! Not only did Barber save the game for the 'Boys last night, but he also single handily saved their season. 66 yards in the 4th quarter and responsible for EVERY play on the final drive when the Cowboys wore 10:52 off the clock!

2. Is the Pack back? Clearly the mauling of the Bears was a sign as to who the NFC North will have to go through this winter.

3. What the NYG did to the stingiest rushing defense (Ravens) was a sight no child should've been allowed to witness under the age of 13. Clearly, the Giants are STILL the class of the NFC. Wow!

4. Phily and Cincy owe America back the 4 hours of life they took from everyone. A freaking tie?! In the NFL?! Come on.

5. Despite Warner throwing for nearly 400 yards, the Cards barely get by the Seahawks? What's wrong with this picture?

6. The best catch of the day, as much as it pains me to say it, was made by a Pittsburgh Saftey. (Troy Palamalu's interception in the first half of the Pitt/Chargers game). Now that's one athletic Cat!

7. For one of the first times this year, Tennessee experienced adversity by being down by 11 while on the road. And for the second week in a row, it was Kerry Collins throwing 3 TD's to overcome the opposing defenses attention to stop the run. The Titans are now 10-0 with 6 games remaining.

8. The battle of Lake Erie, aka Snow Bowl Part 2, takes place tonight between the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns. This is the showcasing of two young, up & coming QB's. Should be an all around good game.

9. The lowly Lions are now 0-10 with these remaining opponents: Bucs, Titans, Vikings, Colts, Saints and Packers. Will someone please take mercy on these poor souls?!

10. This is a shout-out to BillD. This sports forum isn't the same without your thoughts/posts. Hopefully you'll give this site a 2nd chance and rejoin us soon. :(

I agree....there is a HUGE lack of discipline on the Raiders...ESPECIALLY with the defensive line(top 3 in offsides calls) and offensive line(ALSO top 3 in false starts calls). But you really can't blame coaching BECAUSE we need a coach to STAY AND NOT BE FIRED!!! Kiffin was really improving this team...but well....that is old news.

The BIGGEST difference in the Dolphins IS the coaching/front office. The CORE of the team from last year is still there. The schedule is ALSO was one the easier ones in the league. But they have exceeded expections.

let me throw an impressive stat here. the last time the ravens allowed 200 yds rushing in a game was 1997. they had until yesterday a streak of 179 games without allowing an opponent to reach 200yds rushing. impressive!!

I heard Fassel is in the mix for possible raider coach next season. I can see that working ,seriously between him and Mr. Davis. Fassel isn't a bad coach. What do you think salsa? i think his coaching record is 58/53. I know it's not great but he did take the giants to a super bowl in 2001 and won coach of the year in 1997.

Wow. That "Earth-Wind & Fire" combo is clearly a force to be reckoned with.
