NFL 2008-09 Season

4. The Ravens are playing with a rookie QB and rookie RB, yet still winning! Their defense is brutal and keeping them in every game. Sound familiar, year 2000? I was wrong about this team. They ARE legit. (God, that was tough to say. :()

They haven't played anyone from the NFC East yet, don't anoint them champions yet.

Not crowning them by any means. Just pointing out the eerie similarities.

They haven't beaten anyone good yet, they beat the Bungles, the Clowns twice, Miami and the Raiders, the teams they are suppose to beat(No offense.:)).
They lost to the Steelers, the Titans and Colts, just better teams. They do have a very good defense, and I hate Lewis, but their offense isn't that good.

I agree 100%:up

Here we are at the half way point of this very unpredictable season.

My predictions for the second half:

*Pittsburgh will run away and hide in the North and secure HFA throughout the playoffs by beating the Titans in Tennessee.

* Both the AFC West and NFC West will have division winners at 8-8 (San Diego and Arizona).

* Three divisions (AFC East , NFC East and South) will have ALL teams at least 8-8. The AFC East and NFC East will have ALL teams over .500.

*All the wildcards will come from the East of both conferences.

The AFC East is playing some cupcakes down the stretch and every team will finish either 11-5 or 10-6, and Miami will make the playoffs!

Here's the AFC East teams out of division schedules the rest of the way:

Miami: (HOME): Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland
(AWAY): St. Louis, Kansas City

Buffalo: (HOME): Cleveland, San Francisco
(AWAY): Kansas City, Denver (always tough to play there)

NY Jets: (HOME): St. Louis, Denver
(AWAY): Tennessee (tough game), San Francisco, Seattle

New England: (HOME): Pittsburgh (tough game), Arizona (sorry Sabres, not so tough)
(AWAY): Seattle, Oakland

My AFC East Predictions:
1. New England (11-5)
2. NY Jets (11-5) WILDCARD
3. Miami (10-6) WILDCARD
4. Buffalo (10-6) (Sorry Sabres, but they get beat out on a tiebreaker :()

AFC North
1. Pittsburgh (12-4)
2. Baltimore (7-9) (I realize that means only 2 more wins the rest of the way, but their schedule is brutal)
3. Cleveland (6-10)
4. Cincinnati (3-13)

AFC South
1. Tennessee (11-5) (Back to Earth a little bit with a 3-5 second half)
2. Indianapolis (9-7) (AFC East teams cupcake schedules will keep them out of playoffs)
3. Jacksonville (8-8)
4. Houston (7-9)

AFC West
1. San Diego (8-8)
2. Denver (7-9) (They were exposed sooner than I thought they would be)
3. Oakland (5-11)
4. Kansas City (2-12)

NFC East
1. NY Giants (12-4)
2. Washington (11-5) WILDCARD
3. Philadelphia (11-5) WILDCARD

NFC West
1. Arizona (8-8)

I looked at their schedule- twice against Seattle, Monday night against San Francisco, another game with St. Louis, Minnesota, Philadelphia can be beat- and they could go 11-5. Maybe if Carolina loses one or two more games, Arizona gets a first-round bye!

If Philly and Washington finish with the same record how does Philly win the tie breaker?

Carolina beat Arizona so they have they tie break.

Things going from worse to worse for the Lions:

FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Sources: Orlovsky out indefinitely with thumb sprain

Will Drew Stanton start against Jacksonville?
The good news is they're playing Jacksonville. The Jags were the cure for Cincinnati's winless season. Could they lose to the Lions as well? For all the talk about how much the Cowboys are underachieving, how about Jacksonville? These guys are completley laying down. The only difference is that the Cowboys are America's Team and nobody, including the people in Jacksonville, cares about the Jaguars, even when they're winning.

Bill I'm with you until the SB. But I like your NFC CG prediction. I HATE the Eagles. Beating them again in the playoffs would be oh so sweet. :)

I just can't see Philly making a deep playoff run.

IMO, they are a two-man team. McNabb and Westbrook cannot singlehandedly take Philly that far.

BTW, I think Arizona can make the NFC title game. Zona is great against the run, and Jason Campbell can't keep a hot hand all year. I think Washington's a smoke-and-mirrors team.

Trust me, he's not that great of a head coach, he had good players. Look at Tomlin, first year in the NFL won the division and went to the playoffs, this year in first place again. Cowher didn't pick the players, and he had good coaches and players to surround him.

C'mon, Cowher liked Kordell Stewart. What helped Cowher was Bettis on the offense, and they have always had a great defense. Let's not forget Cowher lost a Superbowl. But the thing I think made me dislike him the most was his "chin", that was such BS, everytime they lost, he didn't want to talk to long to the media, but when they won, he would talk all day. I like Tomlin better than cowher, and the only reason Cowher wasn't fired, because he did have some bad years, is because the Roonies believe in giving people chances and I agree with that.

IMHO he is terrible on CBS.
You really do have a dislike for Coach Cowher don't you.

I wish he would come back to Pittsburgh ....
Tomlin has shown me NOTHING, he doesn't spark the team, doesn't really do anything, just stares ....
btw, the O Line STILL STINKS ...

How long is HIS contract ?
