NFL 2008-09 Season

Falcons fly past Raiders 24-0 - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

At least Detroit and Kansas City show HEART!

That's Bullsh!t! A team gets blown out and NOW you are accusing them of not having heart??!! Tell me something, when you Bills gave up their lunch in that nasty a$$ whipping to Phoenix....did THEY show a lack of heart? Your team was mauled by the SAME DOLPHINS that were TROUNCED by the Cardinals a week before, did you question YOUR teams heart??!! My Raiders BEAT the SAME JETS your Bills were manhandled by...are you questioning THEIR heart?

The Raiders were obviously OUTCLASSED and OUT COACHED by a more talented team. The score could have been WORSE but the defense tighted up in the 2nd half yesterday because their ARE some real good players on that team. The team gave up 300 yeards of total offense IN THE 1st HALF. Only gave up approx. 139 in the 2nd half of total offense. This Raider team at the moment is NOT BUILT to come from behind, much less be 24 points behind.

My NFL Week 9 NOT 10:

10. Jacksonville
9. Houston
8. Cleveland
7. Cincinnati
6. Seattle
5. San Francisco
4. Kansas City
3. St. Louis
2. Oakland
1. Detroit

Hot 10 comes after the "Election Game".

Nope....

The Raiders are still better than St. Louis, Kansas City, San Fran, Cinci and Seattle...but I guess you fluctuate rational thinking with hatred.

Arizona DOES win a game on the road.

With games against San Fran on Monday, Seattle, and the Giants, they could be 8-3 heading into their Thanksgiving game in Philly.

Kurt Warner feels more at home at St. Louis, Edwards Jones' Dome than he does in Arizona. I wouldn't consider this game a convincing road win. They still have much to prove on the road before I'm sold.

That Raiders/Chiefs game on November 30th could be one of the worst games of the year. Toilet Bowl I?

OMG! What a stinker of a game that will be! If the Chiefs lose to both the Raiders AND the Bungles, they will be the worst team in the NFL. If only they played the Lions' this would be undisputed. (I still think the Lions are better than the Chiefs).

Remember when Dennis Miller once said to the media about the Bears, Iif you want to crown them, then crown their ass!"

I guess it's time for the media to crown the Giants, since THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!

That was Dennis Green, not Miller.

And this is the closest that you've come to admitting that the NY Football Giants are indeed legit. Finally some respect from Sabres on the Giants! :up

Who had the worse day:

HD MM (saw a bad Browns loss in person) or Salsadancer (Raiders sink to a low worse than even the Lions)?

I don't know about Salsa, but I had a great time on Sunday despite the loss.

My day started at 9am when I met friends at one of the lots in downtown Cleveland to start tailgating. The weather was in the 50°'s and it was sunny. Perfect football weather. We ate steamed clams, chicken, corn-on-the-cobb, redskin potatoes, clam chowder, bratwurst, hot dogs and more...

The game was halfway decent, until we gave up a 14 point lead. There was plenty of blame to go around, including the vanilla play-calling, Braylon dropping key passes AGAIN, Derek Anderson locking onto receivers and neglecting better options. In the end, we should've again beaten the Rats, but we didn't.

This loss hurts because Josh Cribbs played his ASS off. He had multiple great returns and 1 for a TD. He also seems to find his way on every defensive special teams tackle. The effort by this Kent State Alumn is quite inspiring and was the sole bright spot in watching the Browns lose.

At 3-5, we need something to change. I say, give Brady Quinn valuable regular season experience and let's see what we have in him for next year. At the end of the year, we do everything we can to pursue a disciplinarian coach with actual NFL head coaching experience, such as Bill Cowher.

Trust me, he's not that great of a head coach, he had good players. Look at Tomlin, first year in the NFL won the division and went to the playoffs, this year in first place again. Cowher didn't pick the players, and he had good coaches and players to surround him.

C'mon, Cowher liked Kordell Stewart. What helped Cowher was Bettis on the offense, and they have always had a great defense. Let's not forget Cowher lost a Superbowl. But the thing I think made me dislike him the most was his "chin", that was such BS, everytime they lost, he didn't want to talk to long to the media, but when they won, he would talk all day. I like Tomlin better than cowher, and the only reason Cowher wasn't fired, because he did have some bad years, is because the Roonies believe in giving people chances and I agree with that.

IMHO he is terrible on CBS.

Oh, I had a GREAT time this weekend despite ALL effort from my Raiders to make it miserable. Went to a GREAT Miami Hurricanes party thrown by a local radio station celebrity at his house and even had a few 'Canes there. Though my knees are killing me, I caught 12 innings of a baseball game(and went 3 for 5 while at it!;)), went to a great "Arabian Nights" costume birthday party for a friend where he had 10 BEAUTIFUL belly dancers....

So all in all, I had just as good if not better weekend than most....;)

As much as I love the Raiders they are not my end all be all....;)

You have room there for me to move in?:D

Your opinion of Cowher and Tomlin is the same of every Steelers fan that I've talked to. Maybe I'm rushing in favoring Cowher as our next HC, but Romeo certainly doesn't cut it for me right now. Romeo lacks emotion on the sidelines and his team is reflective of that in the way they play. Did you know the Browns have NEVER had a HC with NFL Head Coaching experience prior to being hired here? I think at this point, proven HC-ing experience is what this team needs more than anything.

I don't know about before Noll, but since Noll Pittsburgh HCs never had HC experience. Noll was an assistant for Shula, Cowher was a assistant for Marty Schottenheimer and Tomlin was an assistant for Brad Childress . You don't need HC experience, you need good owners, players and fans.

It has a lot to say about an organization that had only three coaches since 1969.

Week 9: Monday Morning QB by HD MM

1. The Bills have had 2 ugly losses in a row. When is too soon to declare a team a pretender? (Sorry, Sabres)

2. How do the Patriots lose Tom Brady and still stay competitve while the Cowboys lose Tony Romo and go completely in the tank? What a tale of two cities.

3. Congrat's to the Bengals on their first win. And my, how quickly the Jags have fallen from the elite in the AFC!

4. The Ravens are playing with a rookie QB and rookie RB, yet still winning! Their defense is brutal and keeping them in every game. Sound familiar, year 2000? I was wrong about this team. They ARE legit. (God, that was tough to say. :()

5. Minnesota held WR, Andre Johnson to only 4 catches. If he would've caught 10 passes, it would have been the first time in NFL history that a player has caught 10 or more passes in 4 consecutive game. Way to go Sage! ;)

6. "The Bottle" is out for a month. Chicago now winces in unison as Rex takes over.

7. Interesting note: every team in the AFC East has a .500 or above record, while not 1 team in the AFC West has a winning record. Same thing for the NFC East/NFC West sans Arizona. Does anyone west of the Mississippi know how to play football?

8. Next week's NFC East showdown (Giants @ Eagles) should be an epic game. Would a win in Philly convince Sabres once and for all that this Giants team is for real?

9. For God sakes Romeo, start Brady Quinn already! This team needs a change! Quinn's debut would work perfectly for the start of next weeks Thursday Night game on the NFL Network.

10. The Titans continue on their unbeaten path with a huge win against the Packers, yet there are still fans who aren't impressed. The Titans unbeaten streak could go to 12-0 as they face the Bears, Jags, Jets and Lions in their next 4 games.
