NFL 2008-09 Season

My Bottom 10 (Top 10 will be after Steelers-Redskins game):

32. Detroit
31. Kansas City
30. San Francisco
29. Cincinnati
28. Oakland
27. Seattle
26. St. Louis
25. Houston
24. Jacksonville
23. San Diego

1. The AFC is a mess, it's best team the Titans are mediocre at best, and the Colts and Patriots are shells of what they were even last year.

2. You can offically close the books on the NFC West, Arizona will win it.

3. The Raiders have flat out quit.

4. The Cowboys look to be the odd man out in the NFC East.

I basically agree.

1. I can't believe that Tennessee is undefeated. Someone said earlier that the reason they have been winning is that Kerry Collins ISN'T throwing interceptions. Collins practically wrote the book on throwing bad picks. Strange times indeed.

2. The NFC West is a joke. I'm still not sure if the Cardinals are really any good, but they should win the division. Looks like they made the right move in going back to Warner and benching Leinart. Funny, the Rams had no intention of using Warner either back in 99 until Trent Green got hurt.

3. Serves Al Davis right.

4. Brad Johnson would appear to be the odd man out in Dallas.

I'm gonna give them some credit. They had the pieces to get good.

They drafted smartly (Boldin, Fitzgerald, Rolle), traded wisely (Kurt Warner), and got a good coach in Whisenhunt.

IMO, the Cardinals are the equivalent of a geeky girl turning into an absolute babe!

Hart,

I know it ultimately didn't factor in the outcome, BUT why the hell did Belichick go for two, early in the third quarter???

That played right into the Colts hands!

Yeah, that really didn't bother me as much as the 12 men on the field challenge, even though I believe the ref got it wrong, still I would not waste it considering it is only 5 yards. In the first half maybe, but not in the second. Which meant they couldn't challenge the 2 point conversion.

Oh well they are still in good shape. 5-3 and really only 2 difficult road games left.

Yup, and I definitely think that Cassel is on the upswing. :up

Yeah but are they just looking good because of who they're surrounded by? To use your analogy are the Cardinals now the best looking girl left in the bar at last call? :D Remember this is the same team that gave up 56 points to the Jets.

I know you and I made an avatar bet for Arizona/New England, but could we switch it for next week's Bills/Pats games, or is it too late to change?

YOU'RE ON!!!

I actually feel better about the Patriots (and Cassel) after tonight.

IMO, Belichick had a bad night.

8. Cleveland
7. Cincinnati
6. Seattle
5. San Francisco

Hot 10 comes after the "Election Game".

Here are the avatars:

If New England wins, I put up this avatar of until the day after Thanksgiving of a guy I'm sure you remember well:

If Buffalo wins, you'll have to put up this avatar until the day after Thanksgiving. Ever heard of this guy:

Cool. I like Joe Ferguson. :up

In fact, I'd use any Bills player as an avatar.........except the POS murderer!

Time for our choices for NFL player of the week.

I'm having a hard time choosing between either Adrian Peterson (139 yards on 25 attempts and a touchdown) or Kurt Warner (23-34, 342 yards, 2 touchdown passes, 0 interceptions)

Since we are now past the halfway point, time to dole out who we think are the best of the NFL season so far...

MVP: Kurt Warner, QB Arizona...He has cut down on his mistakes the last 2 weeks and he's in a way willing the Cardinals to it's first division title in Arizona. Honorable Mentions: Ben Roethlisberger, QB Pittsburgh and Drew Brees, QB New Orleans.

Rookie of the Year: Matt Ryan, QB Atlanta...he's benefiting from Michael Turner's presence in Atlanta but his numbers have improved almost every week. Honorable Mention: Joe Flacco, QB Baltimore...almost as impressive as Ryan's performance

Coach of the Year: Mike Smith, Atlanta...Tough choice, but the Falcons organization was in tatters over Mike Vick and Bobby Petrino messes. Honorable Mentions: Tony Sparano, Miami and John Harbaugh, Baltimore...as with the QB's the rookie coaching class appears to a real winner.

Comeback Player of the Year: Chad Pennington, QB Miami...He's brought stability and a winner's attitude to the Dolphins, and appears the early winner in the Farve shuffle.

Biggest Suprises: The quick turnarounds of Falcons, Ravens and Dolphins...the Falcons and Dolphins in particular who cleaned house and brought in the right people to change the teams mindset. Honorable Mention: Tennessee Titans being undeated...no one would have predicted this.

Here are the final numbers from the Raiders/Falcons game:

77 total yards of offense for Oakland. 77 yards IN 60 MINUTES! That's an average of 1.28 yards per minute.

Thank god Miami beat Virginia in an overtime thriller or Salsa might go postal.

It was downright pathetic. The WORST display of ANY FOOTBALL I have ever seen!! But, with there is NO talent at WR and your best running back is out. I thought for SURE that McFadden would be back....but he was on the sidelines watching. When I saw THAT, I KNEW we were doomed. Since the coaching change, this team has REGRESSED to the point of being AS BAD AS the Chiefs or the Lions(sorry Jim, as opposed to MOST here, I really don't like to kick fellow posters team in the gut while they are going through a gut wrenching season). The ONLY light at the end of the tunnel is that seeing that ANYTHING can happen on any given Sunday, one can always hope. I would love to stick to my 7-9/possibly 8-8 season....but I will have to revised that and say 5-11 and HOPE for a 6-10.:(:(:(:(

Thank you Al Davis!!:mad: I cannot wait till you release this team from your cold dead hands!:up
