NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Tough watching MICHIGAN in the first half yesterday. Defense was disappointing in the first half, and the offense looked confused. Threet will probably start next week, he seemed to have a better handle on the "spread". It will take a few weeks to iron out the wrinkles in this system, unfortunately we could be 0-5 by then. It will be interesting to watch this offense when they get better. Lots of misdirection, and most certainly, not boring to watch. Defense was outstanding in the second half, more like what I expected. MICHIGAN will be just fine, though. We'll take some lumps for now, but they will be hell to play against when they get comfortable with this system.

Is it possible that the voters will move USC up in the rankings to try and set up a 1 vs. 2 matchup with the Buckeyes?

I have this feeling that Georgia may be dropped from the top of the rankings, for we all know the voters are in love with the Trojans and want to set up a 1/2 matchup.

Can't say I'd be surprised if they did. It's all about the moola. :)

Kentucky with a magnficent defensive game against Louisville.

Ramy's boys held the Cards to two points. TWO POINTS!

The last time UK played in Louisville, they gave up 59 points.

Boy, the Ville looked HORRID against a big rival, at home! Maybe they fight with the Cuse for the basement!

Rutgers vs Fresno turns into a very big game for the Big East today, otherwise we are at least in the "sucks as bad as the ACC" conversation (although VTech and Clemson both going down is really much worse)

Louisville looked downright awful on offense. Defensively, they looked very stoiut and strong.

Big East is lucky that the ACC is getting all the bad press this week. 4-0 vs. FCS/I-AA, 0-3 so far vs. FBS/I-A schools.

Here's MY Top 10 going into week 2:

1. Georgia
2. Ohio St.
3. Southern Cal
4. Missouri
5. Florida
6. Oklahoma
7. LSU
8. Texas
9. Texas Tech
10. West Virginia

Question: Clemson was in the Top 10 of most preseason polls, will they fall all the way out of the Top 25 after their dismal showing against Bama?

Nice to see you're not the type of person who woudl have tried making USC no. 1 because they looked good against UVA.

I have this sinking feeling they'll drop Georgia from #1 because:

A. Voters love the Trojans
B. They would want a 1 vs. 2 matchup.

Bama was ranked- this isn't App State all over again. It's not like Bama was projected to stink this year.

I predict Clemson will be ranked #16.

If Tennessee wins tonight (fingers crossed), there will likely be 7 SEC teams in the top 25 when the rankings are released this week.

Five of the six currently ranked SEC teams have already won and Tennessee plays tonight. South Carolina, who beat NC State 34-0, was first in the 'others receiving votes' category in the AP last week and will likely move into the top 25.

This also means that 4 of the 6 SEC East teams will be ranked and the other two (Kentucky and Vandy) won handily in week 1.
