NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

THAT was close for B.C.

Great win, Bill, but I find it hard to believe that they needed a last-second shot to beat the worst team in the ACC.

I thought this would be a blowout ala Louisvlle/Notre Dame.

Rakim Sanders saved BC's bacon with 1.7 seconds left.................the Jekyll and Hyde Eagles survive, 67-66.

Pitt about to beat UConn.

I heard the announcers say that they can be outright Big East champs if West Virginia beats Louisville tonight.

Pittsburgh fans on this site will have to do the unthinkable- root for the Mountaineers!

Oh, and when I was talking about Pitt's awesome home-field advantage- they didn't lose a home game this season, something that some of the other high-ranked teams couldn't do this year.

IMO, Pitt wrapped up a #1 seed with this win unless they get upset in the Big East quarterfinals.

Even THEN, I think they're assured of a #1 seed.

Miami knocks off NC State.

I think the Canes are still in the discussion for the NCAA's, but must win a minimum of one game in the ACCT.

Great win for Pitt. Sweeping Connecticut is no small feat.

Sorry I missed the BC ending. GT gave them as much trouble as anyone this year. It took OT for the Eagles to win the first contest.

I agree Miami's not dead. How can you be with everyone else losing out there? Still the Canes will need to make some things happen in the ACC Tournament. That loss to GT was brutal. The scary thing is with a guy like Jack McClinton they could go on a run.

Exactly my thinking. McClinton is the type of player (ie Stephan Curry) that can carry a team on his back.

An early loss won't destroy them.

The 2002-03 Arizona Wildcats and 2005-06 UConn Huskies were ranked #1 in the polls, lost in their first conference tournament game, and still got a #1 seed.

(Both teams made a decent run, losing in the Elite Eight by razor-thin margins)

Unless Florida St. loses at home to Virginia Tech tomorrow, BC will be the #6 seed and play Virginia in the first round Thursday night.

I still have nightmares about the performance Randolph Childress put on for Wake back in 95. He averaged over 30 PPG in that year's tournament. Trust me when I tell you that weekend Tim Duncan was not the most imposing player for the Deacons.

Penn St. could be taking a huge blow to their bubble hopes. The Nittany Lions are currently losing to a very bad Iowa team.

Kentucky need to kick it into gear or they aren't going to win this game.

Kentucky loses to Florida- sorry Ramy- and have to basically do what Georgia did last year- win the tournament (IMO, they have to hope LSU or Tennessee choke in the tournament and they draw an easier opponent or two).

If Morehead doesn't win tonight, this will be a double-dose of bad news for The Rammer Man.

Once again, a team that followed a huge win had a head-scratching loss.

Missouri followed up their huge win over Oklahoma with a surprising loss to Texas A&M, who I don't consider to be a very good team.

Iowa upsets Penn St.

The Big Ten has three locks for the tournament (Michigan St., Purdue and Illinois), and six teams on the bubble............but only three or four bubble teams will make it.
