NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

Wow, do ANY bubble teams want in? Any of them? Yikes!

Happy Backstabber College lost, though :)

Dude...get over it....do you follow UCONN or the Big East??!! I mean really....this thing with conference loyalty is dumb. IF UCONN were to leave the Big East....will you no longer follow the Huskies because they left?? Seriously...??!!:rolleyes:

BC was a rival (although we pretty much smacked them around). Now, we don't play them in anything - conferences aside - THAT's a reason not to like them, if nothing else.

Anyone else surprised by Mizzou upsetting Oklahoma and Blake Griffin?

Not really. Missouri capped of a perfect home season with the victory last night, and were ranked #12 in the country coming into the game.

Mizzou is now tied for second place with the Sooners in the Big 12.

No. Missouri's a good team despite their perfromance at Kansas. I thought OU would lose this game all along. I've been saying Oklahoma is overrated, now they've lost 3 of their last 4.

Stupid KENTUCKY:mad:, how can you lose to a team that you beat at their place by 23 points and then lose at HOME. They deserved to get booed last night.
Ramy what's your view on Gillispie? Has the governor declared a state of emergency yet? I can't believe Kentucky's had this much trouble. Now they basically have no shot at making the NCAA Tournament, and for as much crap as UK fans gave Tubby he never missed the dance. And BTW Tubby's close to getting Minnesota in.

Pitt had a great win over Marquette.
Yeah. That sets up the rematch with UConn. I feel sorry for Marquette. They've been a good team all year and then they have once of the most brutal closing stretches of games imaginable and they lose Dominic James for the season. Marquette has still played well in these games, but they keep coming up short. They held their own with Pitt until they got worn out at the end. I have no idea how the selection committee seeds Marquette. They could enter the tournament on a 5 game losing streak.

I watched the end of that game. They looked very impressive. I just hope Fields foot is alright.

The announcers at the Pitt game were discussing the possibility of three BE teams getting #1 seeds (along with UNC). I personally don't see it happening, only because you have UConn-Pitt going head-to-head this weekend, and the BE Tourney coming up, where I'm sure the Pitt/UConn/Louisville trio will meet more than once.

Anyone know if this has ever happened before (three teams from the same conference getting #1 seeds??? Anders?

I don't know what to think. He has still been using Tubby's recruits for the most part so I will wait to pass judgement until next year when all but Porter will be his starters and hopefully Porter will transfer. I just hope Patterson and Meeks come back or the team will be in dire straits.

I had Marquette in the FF about a month ago.

As far as their seeding goes, I think they dropped to the 5-6 line.

Fields hurt his butt, not his foot. He hurt his foot last year.

If Louisville wins the Big East regular season and the Big East tournament, then I could see three #1 seeds from the Big East.

All the fans last night were chanting We Want UCONN, well Saturday we'll see who the better team is.:)

No. That has not happened. I don't think it will this year either. In 2005 Carolina and dook were #1's and Wake Forest was a 2. That was pretty close since all 3 were ranked in the top 5 throughout the year, but Wake lost in the QF's of the ACCT and got dropped a line. I think Oklahoma's recent slide is jeopardizing their claim to a #1 seed, and we all know Memphis won't lose.

Memphis will get a #2.

Ode to dook. :haha

PC loses to Villanova. :(

I now think the Friars have to win at LEAST two games in the BE Tourney, to get any sort of at-large consideration.
