Hopper Deletion issue

Had a unusual irritating happen this evening. I got home tonight and turned the tv on as usual. It was on the same channel as it was when I turned it off the night before (as it would be) I noticed at the bottom of the screen it said it was updating the program guide and I wouldn't be able to view the guide or DVR items until completed, no big deal I just waited until it was finished. Upon completing I went to watch a program but found the hopper had wiped all my recorded programs and had deleted all my timers, also all the channel icon art on the guide has disappeared.

The functions of the hopper still work correctly, it's just that wiped my programs and timers and took the icon art away. It also remembered the last four channels, kept the wireless Internet connection. I've reset it 3 times, knowing my recorded content is likely just gone, but the icon art is still missing after these resets.

Have you heard of this happening before or what might have caused this happen?

Holding the reset button. I've found the restore option and selected it and it did restore my timers and channel icon art. But I'm just out all of my recordings. I've done extensive Internet searches and found nothing on this issue.

I got the same message after we had to flip a breaker that cut the hopper off while it was recording...maybe the power went out our something??? I know how it feels to lose recordings...i was lucky though my recordings were still there when it finished loading

The exact same thing happened to me. I noticed that the "Hopper starting Up" came coming on then go away then back. It did this like fifteen times before I was actually able to get into the system. Gave the same "updating guide" stuff as you and all my timers and recorded shows were gone, as well as some folders I had created for shows.

I had this happen a couple of months ago. I ended up unplugging the Hopper for a few minutes and when it came back online, all my recordings and timers were back and everything was as it had been.
