Hopper 1 Software H183, Hopper 2 Software H283, Hopper 3 Software H383, Hopper Duo Software H483 and Hopper Plus Software P13106 released & available

I wonder how many things in the Notifications stay enabled even when toggled off. So far, it's the Caller ID and the Remote Control Mode Reminder.
For my Hopper 3 the remote control reminder works properly. For my Hopper 3 Plus setup it does not. I have it set to off but still get the reminder.

We have noticed since H383 that while the skip forward works within a specified program on PTAT, if you try to skip the commercials ,etc at the end of a program to watch the next program it says Live TV and fails to go to the next recorded program.

I've tried backing up and Fast Forwarding through the end of program barrier but that also fails. Sunday night after watching Tracker we had to exit PTAT and go to the recorded programs on PTAT and select Equalizer before we could watch Equalizer. Skip forward is working fine within each program but will not allow you to proceed to the next program on PTAT while PTAT is still active (recording).

I have seen the same problem. The end of the previous show (whatever was paused) is prepended to the front of the new one. And the new one does not have a play function (you have to press the play button on the program icon)

Maybe the issue is with the Hopper Plus software because Pepper also has the Hopper Plus and I do as well and specifically mentioned the Hopper Plus software update caused it in this comment.

I agree with you. The H+ is causing several issues. But I am hanging in there with it. My wife really likes using one remote smoothly accessing the apps.

Experienced a Hopper 3 weirdness this evening that I have not seen before. Wife was watching a DVR of a Hallmark movie and with 11 minutes left she hit FF to go through commercials and got a message that the recording was corrupted and she would have to rerecord it. She tried going back to the DVR to start over, no joy same message so she dumped it in the trash. She then tried to start another movie and got the same message to rerecord again right from the jump. I decided to try a power plug pull reset and after we had TV again I went into the trash and restored her movie and she was able to resume it without a problem. Everything seems normal again so not sure what's going on. Hope my H3 is not dying.

Here is a H3 bug still in H383 that I haven’t seen reported yet. It seemed to have started around H380 or a bit before, I’m not exactly sure when it started.

If you have live video paused and buffered, and the pause crosses the time boundary when a new recording is to start, the buffered video gets prepended to the beginning of the new recording. For example, if there is 1/2 hour of video paused and buffered, and the new recording is supposed to be 1 hour long, the new recording will actually be 1 1/2 hours long. Otherwise, the new recording plays just fine; just a concatenation of the buffered and recorded video.

When the new recording start boundary occurs, the pause progress bar come one for a second or two, then turns off. If you then go to paying the pause video (with either the play or unpause/pause button), nothing happens and the video still appears to be paused. No amount of hitting these buttons will start playing the paused video. However, pressing either the skip back/forward buttons will start playing the paused video, and you can now pause/play/skip the paused video as normal.

So far I’ve only seen this when the paused video and new recording were on the same channel. I haven’t yet tested this when they are on different channels.

It use to be that the paused/buffered video and recordings were completely separate, and neither would affect the other.

Could someone else test this to see if it’s just me or a real SW bug?

Dish: I’ve saved an affected recording on my H3 in case you want to examine it. Let me know.
I have all the paused and buffered problems as well, but most distressing is that it goes black screen at least once a day, then restarts. This has been happening since well before before the 383 update.

Received H383 on 10/28/24 --- I have noticed that in the past few days some recordings during playback go to black screen for a few seconds, then resume. I don't watch live TV, only recorded shows - so I don't know if it's that the broadcast is blacking out momentarily while it's being recorded, or a problem with the recorded version itself.
Also seems it happens mainly on the local network channels. I haven't tried to go back to the recording to try to start over or resume yet or trash and restore. Anyone else experiencing this? Is it a known/reported issue?

I have not, but I did find a new "feature" which is driving me crazy. The sequence of events is this:
  1. Start watching a recorded movie.
  2. Fall asleep.
  3. Movie ends.
  4. Live TV returns and may or may not be on channel it was on before. I don't know because I was asleep at the time. But I vote for "correct channel" I was watching before.
  5. Joey goes into standby.
  6. Wake up.
  7. Turn on the Joey again.
  8. Live TV comes up on OTA channel 2. It's not on the last channel I was watching live when I started the movie. Neither the last channel nor the movie are in the recall list.

On that Joey, press Home twice, go to Settings, go to Power, Change Power On to Tune to Last channel.

Thanks. Another update-induced reconfiguration. Of course that doesn't fix the mangled recall list. Edited to add: Power On is already set to Tune to Last Channel. I don't have this problem if I turn it off deliberately, rather than falling asleep during a movie.
We have an OTA channel 2?
Yeah, WMAR which is an ABC affiliate out of Baltimore. Those will all be gone once I move to Manassas. :crying

I experienced something similar the other day where I was on one channel but the programming was 1 hour but I was like 30 minutes behind, I was unable to rewind past the 0:00 mark for the current program.
