Instead of the Love him/Hate him discussion, we're all going to see very soon whether Tebow is a good NFL QB or not. That's the great thing about this game. Opinions and predictions are proved on the field. Give him the rest of the year we'll find out. One way or the other.

Next discussion.......

Actually, we should not judge him for at least 2 years of actually playing.

I'd be kind of afraid that would be replacing one out of touch guy with another, though certainly not as bad.

Why do you say that? Are their stories of him being out of touch? Because he was friends with Al?

I was not a big fan of his in college, but after reading up on a few things about him and his family...I became a very big fan of the person and also feel he has gotten a bum rap before he has gotten a chance to prove himself. But for how great he was in college...the NFL ain't college. For how great the SEC defenses supposedly were, NFL defenders are bigger, faster and stronger. Success in college, regardless of school OR conference, does not equate success in the NFL.
I agree.that's why I said the NFL isn't college but I hope he proves many of us wrong.

Last time the Lions started 5-0 was 1956.
I think he meant when both teams started 5-0 at the same time. I don't know about the Packers history but the longest the Lions stayed undefeated was back in 1934 when they went 10-0 and it was their first year in Detroit. Can they beat that record this year? I think it's possible.:)

You Lions fans are HIGH!

Ya, I know.

Someone today said they thought Detroit would win 12 games ... they did a under/over of 11.5 ...
Personally, I'll take the Under, I'm thinking 9 wins will be better than they have had since WAYNE FONTES !
I'm hoping for 11 wins, but will be happy with 9-11.
9 won't make the playoffs though, 10 probably will and 11 should.

Because Madden is also getting to be very old, and has been away from the game so long. (I'm thinking that's what he meant. Makes sense to me. No conspiracies afoot.)

I didn't think there was any conspiracy, I was just wondering if he knew something I didn't. Eventhough he is 75, I think his mind is sharp. And it's not like he is gonna be GM for life.

Good pickup by the Raiders today IMO, Aaron Curry acquired from the Seahawks for a 7th and a conditional pick the year following.

We are in desperation mode when it comes to LB and this was a good pick-up indeed. And, they give up almost nothing for a former #4 overall pick.

I just can't get over all the season ending injuries this year. I had read that according to Adam Schefter and others, this amount of injuries have supposedly been the same as any year...but to me, it seem like more.

Me too, especially the pectoral injuries. Never really heard of them before last year(Dumervil), and there are many across the league (including Broncos) this year, it seems. And arm muscle and groin injuries.

Lots of torn/strained muscle injuries.....

IMO, I think the lack of OTAs and a somewhat fast pre-season has alot to do with this. The Raiders have yet to play with a complete starting defensive line-up and WR corp all season. But I would not doubt alot of teams are in the same boat.

Browns LB, D'Qwell Jackson tore his pectoral mussel in both 2009 and 2010. He's back with a vengeance this year though!

We've been having injury issues on our O-Line. Eric Steinbach is out for the season with back surgery, Tony Pashos has been struggling to stay healthy and just last week our Center, Alex Mack played with a ruptured appendix and had to be rushed to the hospital after the game for emergency surgery.

Most recently, our biggest loss will be our DE, Marcus Bernard who crashed his 3-wheel motorcycle on the highway. He remains in the hospital in stable condition, but it looks like as of now, the most serious injury is a broken arm. Regardless, he's out for the season.

In even more injury news, CB Joe Haden and WR Josh Cribbs are both nursing sprained knees and are day-to-day.
