Sure sounds like it ....

How can you possibly compare Ben to Tebow and take Tebow ?

And WHO has done that?????

That hasn't even been mentioned. Only 1 game of passer rating has been compared.

You said Tebow should not be a starter based on 10 passing attempts from half of a game he did not start.

That's what I'd like to know.

But say anything about Ben, and people get butthurt badly....and it wasn't even anything negative.

I've never seen a more sensitive fan base than the Steelers. Not only do they have rabbit ears they also hear things that aren't even said.

As much as I like Tebow, the person, Tebow the QB, he has not done enough to merit being in the same breath as Big Ben. It was ONLY a one game stats comparison, because of Jimbo's post. Last I checked, you CAN do that. And the ONLY comparison is that matters is the the Steelers won. Tebow came in, had his chance and that's that. He did a great job in leading the team to a comeback, but in the end style points don't count....the "w" does.

Personally, John Fox has no choice but to give into the fans, regardless of how good either Quinn or Orton may look in practice.THIS is not happening, if you believe it you are a foolWhat do you it is NOT happening? Unless you are in the team meetings, you don't know what they are gonna do. Has he named a starter for next week's game? Nope. Until he names one, you know as much as we do.

Also, the organization traded UP to get him...you might as well put him in because the Broncos are not going to the playoffs...got to see what he has as a starting QB in a long period of time to see if he is your future.THIS is more realistic Good, glad we agree.;)

Right now, the Broncos look dumb for not taking the Dolphins offer earlier in the year for Orton....and the the Dolphins look smart by not taking the offer because Henne has out played Orton.THIS is not how it happened. According to Schefter, there was a $27mil/3yr deal that was ready to go, that the owner of the Fins nixed...because they were gonna pay an average QB a ton of money AND give up a possible 2 draft picks AS WELL! THAT is why it did not pan out. The Dolphins saw the price of McNabb(2 #5 picks in successive years) and that is what they wanted to offer. Denver wanted more. Can't blame them because at the time, Orton looked like a very serviceable QB. But he is at best now, a spot starter or an excellent backup. He is not gonna lead you past the Jets, the Pats and now the Bills.

What I meant by "THIS", is giving in to the fans. That is not happening.

Tebow may be named starter, but it's because Orton is not performing(and your point about evaluation), NOT because of fan demands.......

Gotcha... but some how...I just don't know. I mean from day one, from everything I have read, Quinn has out performed Tebow in practice.

Broncos' Brady Quinn leapfrogs Tim Tebow as No. 2 quarterback - ESPN

Then there is this in Yahoo sports:

There were the preseason reports that Tebow wasn't even the third-best quarterback on the roster. The Broncos official website even refused to declare a winner in Quinn vs. Tebow for the backup spot. It's still like that. Fox said last week that he was giving Quinn and Tebow (along with Orton) snaps in practice, expressing no preference for one or the other.

A pure youth movement doesn't really explain it, either. If the decision was all about playing a young guy and seeing what he's got, then Quinn's just as good a call as Tebow. Quinn's 26; Tebow's 24. It's not like Quinn's been given a chance anywhere that makes it possible to conclude that he can or can't be an NFL quarterback.

I see three possible scenarios: 1) Somewhere along the way, John Fox decided that Tim Tebow was a better quarterback than Brady Quinn; 2) With benching Orton, Fox is throwing in the towel on this season and plans to look at both of his young quarterbacks; or 3) Fox gave in to public pressure to finally play Tebow.

Holy Crap! Can we deleted the last 5-6 pages of posts which have nothing to do with tonight's game between the Lions and Bears. To be honest, it's the same rigmarole over-and-over-and-over-and-over. I'll sum it up:

- "I like Roethlisberger's butt - it's the best."
- "I like Tebow's butt better."
- "Tebow's butt is better than Orton's...send Orton to Miami."
- "Ray-dahs!"
- "Everybody wants Luck but nobody knows who he is!"
- "You stink."
- "No, you stink."
- "If I stink, you and your team stinks worse."
- "How dare you insult my team...my team is red-hot, your team ain't doodly squat."
- "Here's some uselss information for everyone..."
- "Yes, that was really useless...let's argue."

Seriously, open "other" discussion threads for all thes side-issues.....please!

Anyway, contrats to the Lions for extending their record to 5-0. Ugly game - great result!

How about, if we play Quinn X amount this year, we'll owe the Browns another 3rd round pick? You forgot that one.....

I must say, I'm a little closer to the issue here, and know a bit more about it......

But, continue your musings and internet searches if you must.....

Holy crap! There was no discussion about the game. Nobody here apparently cared that much.

Is this the Bears-Lions game thread, or the NFL thread?

(I do agree about the Ray-duhs stuff though, there is a separate thread for that already, so let's keep it there!) ;):D

Because with orton they were within 3 points of winning. I think Tebow is a way better QB then Orton so the score should be much more in favor of Denver.

if you say so...we shall see in 2 weeks..... We shall see....
