2010 NCAA Football Season

I still think VPI is going to disappoint a bit. Guessing an opening loss to Boise St, and a meh season thereafter.

I'm guessing 3.
Probably, VT tends to underpeform from expectations. Makes me wonder why they get ranked so high in the early season, when they almost always fall flat.

Personally I think it's good for a conference to have teams that beat up on each other and reduce it's champ to 1 or 2 loses. Shows that the conference has more top to bottom strength.

I'm tired of teams going undefeated through an easy conference schedule to only be shown as the pretender that they are when they get into a bowl game, especially in years when they sneak into the "championship" game and a better team is locked out.

He never will have a more successful career than JaMarcus Russell. Becaus he will never be picked #1 snd he will never get a guaranteed $31 million.;)

JaMarcus played...well...stunk up the place for 2 1/2 years....and made ALOT of money for the stink he left behind.

See, that is where you and Jamarcus FAIL.

The position in which you were drafted and how much money you make doesn't equate to success.

Success is measured in how you play the game and the achievements that follow. J-Marc was content in being drafted and thought the game would come to him without hard work and dedication. You call that success? His lazy ass was anything but. To me he was an epic failure!!!!

Tim Couch??

I'd take Tim Couch over all three of them any day and so would Ramy. Couch's career was diminished because of the poor team he was surrounded by. If he was brought along better and surrounded with better talent, I guarentee he'd still be in the league today. He had every intangible, smarts and skills you need to be a QB, but it just didn't work out.

Which goes to show that collegic success does not always translate to NFL success. Lots of quarterbacks (George) flop in the pro's, and lots of underrated ones (Montana) excel.

Alot of Florida and FLA ST QB's have not had very good careers in the NFL when they were expected too.

Of course, a lot of that has to do with where you go in the draft too.

And then there's the guy who did not start until his senior season at a very small college, went undrafted, left football altogether for a while, played arena football, and now his next stop is the Hall of Fame. Some genius was probably certain he had Kurt Warner all figured out after his sophomore season of college too.

LOL - indeed!

VT will most likely go undefeated this year...starting with a nice romp of Boise St. Boise st has not played a team like VT in a very long time.. the current roster has not seen the type of strength they will bring to FedEx field.

The ACC is so hard to win in since there are about 5 teams that are constantly beating the crap out of each other.

Make up your freakin' mind! Is the ACC hard, or will VT go undefeated? You can't have it both ways.

The NFL has had players who were disappointments before, but Jamarcus Russell is in the argument for biggest NFL disapointment EVER!

Sandra

I would take Russel over Leaf any time.

Btw, who's my third option ?

Tim Couch??

Don't forget Akili Smith. Actually, I'd take him over Jamarcus.

Heath Shuler ring a bell? How about David Carr or Joey Harrington. As big a failure as Russell was/is, there have been some just as bad. Here's an interesting lineup the NY Daily News put together:

Heath Shuler ring a bell? I think ESPN once rated him the 4th biggest NFL draft bust of all time. Can't remember who the top 3 were. Actually, as big a failure as Russell was, there have been some just as bad. Here's an interesting lineup the NY Daily News put together:

NFL's Biggest Draft Busts

And there's more if we really think about it for a bit :D

You beat me to my edit Jimbeaux. ;) There were quite a few 1st round, 1st picks in that list. JR was still the cover boy for the article though. :D

Oh, I don't know, I think you might be thinking that because it's fresh ....

Ryan Leaf was worse , much worse ...... if he could have only kept his mouth shut.
