I have the duplicates locked away as well and this would be a non-issue if all the premium movies channels we pay for were in HD, but they are not. Half of them are still in SD, which in this day and age is also unacceptable.I'm sure we can figure out which are HD and which are SD. We're techy guys right?
I have all SD duplicates locked out anyway.
I would say since DISH is charging for the programming but not delivering it with their pipe, the satellite, then a refund should be provided so it can pay for the delivery pipe which is now the Internet Service Provider for the transport. Basically, they should lower the prices of the packages as they should consider what method of transport each channel uses.... Satellite or the Customer Provided Internet. That would be unacceptable, it's my decision of how my capped internet data is used, not Dish. With a family of five, if our TV viewing were to be steaming only, I would blow through Comcast's monthly data cap in no time, and I refuse to pay an addition 30% premium for unlimited data. And since Comcast is the only ISP choice in my area, I also have to play the yearly "threaten to cancel" game with them to keep their annual price hikes to a minimum.
