The Following

That's the thing about all the followers. It's becoming so many that I find myself questioning EVERY character on the show. I even thought a couple weeks back that the female lead detective was a follower. Although I don't really feel that way now after her background story.

I have been thinking that since she took over the case, but like you now I don't know.

One would think by now they would have pulled the prison visitor logs and tracked down as many as they could and put them under surveillance. But, I suppose they could also have Roderick being a disciple and setting up an army of followers.

Good ratings Monday. 8.58 million total viewership with a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 group. Upgraded on the bubble watch to likely renewal. Now to see if Kevin is interested.

The followers seem to be going beyond being just cult members to being a combination of a secret society, where you don't know who a member is,& a terrorist organization. As far as checking the logs for prison visits, you'd also need to check student rosters of all of the classes Carroll taught. Roderick may have recruited members outside of them ever visiting Carroll in prison or in his classes.

Well, quite a game changer!! Loved the way Ryan dealt with the cocky flunky. I thought people would never stop coming out that front door at the end.

"Welcome Home": Ryan and Parker are upset when the FBI makes Nick Donovan (Mike Colter) lead investigator as the search for Joey Matthews and Joe Carroll continues; a follower and Joe Carroll form a deadly plan.

Well it looks like they will not run out of followers any time soon given the number at the follower compound. Even though they blew through 6 of them.

I just wonder what the "jump the shark" moment for this show will be? I'm just waiting for a "follower" to be in a high position of authority in either the FBI or U.S. Marshals. Also,I'm waiting for the CIA to have a more prominent role in this show, besides the guy who had a cyanide capsule sewn into his hand. How long & for how many seasons can they keep this up before we hear the theme song from jaws playing in the background(jump the shark)?

This is 24 again with a limited group. Sometimes the show makes you scratch your head. Why exactly 3 of them got away through the front door when Ryan left the other fbi agent calling for backup. I did not get that. Was she calling for pizza delivery and did not hear the shots being fired. Sometimes, stupid plots that it is just stupid. At least in 24 jack made you believe that everything could be done with a cell phone.

What bothered me more is that there is a chance that an SUV matching the description and partial plate is found and they only dispatch 2 agents to drive across town to look at it instead of sending in a team and local police as backup. I know it is more dramatic to have a shoot out and have some followers escape. If someone is out kidnapping FBI agents I guarantee there would be a lot more reaction. Teams would be coming in from across the country.

They were the first 2 to respond. If they would have waited for a team to form up,the kidnapped FBI agent would already be dead with his throat cut. That being said, you would think that others would have been sent at the same time, however this SUV was one of many that they had to investigate at the same time,& the writers are playing on the fact that the new FBI leader doesn't trust,or respect,Ryan enough to automatically jump on his hunch & send the whole posse out to investigate the shipyard.

What networks need to do,both with this show & other shows like NBC's Revolution,is go the miniseries/telenova route. I find it hard for this show to be open ended & continue season after possible season without them jumping the shark eventually. How many seasons can chasing after Joe Carroll & his kidnapped son? Are they going to alternate between Carroll's son & ex-wife getting kidnapped/rescued & how many times are they going to capture Carroll with him escaping prison each time? Are they going to send him to Gitmo next & then have a "follower" break him out from there?

I officially gave up on the series today. I deleted the timer and three backlogged shows after watching 3 other shows that had piled up over the last two months. There were just too may leaps of logic and the tone is so depressing that I had to keep a bottle of Zoloft on my snack table.

I can see the appeal for some, but for me the episode three weeks ago was my last.
