Price Changes and HD packages on dish website

AFAIK the $10 step from the AT100 to AT100+ includes Locals and Regional Sports Networks. Currently they cost $5 each. But I'm with you on the other pricing steps. Why would the next 100 channels only cost $2 and the following 50 cost another $10?

WAG the channels added between AT100 and AT200 are low cost (some maybe even pay Dish to carry them) while the next 50 channels are higher cost.

BTW the current Dish Builder guarantees pricing until January 2008. WOW what a deal :)

DISH Network -- Dish DVR Advantage

Yep. The Top 200 with or without a DVR will be the same price if you are subscribing to DVR Advantage. The Top 100 will be $2 less than the Top 100 with DVR Advantage. The Top 200 is actually $7 MORE than the Top 100+ when you take into account that the 100+ at $42.99 has local channels included in that price while the Top 200 at $44.99 does not include local channels.

So in so many words they reserve the right to bend you over with no Vaseline when ever they feel like it...:D

The truth is they know there is not much you can do about it.... To have what I have with D* it would cost me way too much upfront, and that applies to most E* HD customers. If you think E* doesn't know what it cost the average E* HD customer to leave and go to D* you are fooling yourself. All they are doing is playing a numbers game, how much money will we lose per customer lost vs. how much money is it going to cost us to squeeze more HD in before the next birds launch.....

Just my .02....as I remain stuck in neutral like the rest of my E* buds...

P.S. Instead of pasting your image into MS Word, paste it into PAINT and save it as a JPG or GIF.

I would have, but I was leaving town this morning, so just pasted it in open office writer since it happened to be up at the time. Barely got it posted before running out of town for the day.

Anyone know when we can add this package? I would love to get rid of the HD Enabling fee by substituting it for the $10 package.

The third HD package already exists and is called dishHD. It is the package that all current subs to E*'s HD package already know and love. You'll remain grandfathered into the dishHD package unless you call to change your package to dishHD Essential or dishHD Ultimate. If you don't intend to downgrade to dishHD Essential, don't forget to contact E* to switch from dishHD to dishHD Ultimate. ;)

Well despite what they told me when I signed up and what the website now about says how my price as an existing customer will not go up over my 18 month commitment which is not up until September 2008... I just got a letter from Dish that says that my price is going up and it will be reflected in my next statement.

Time to call customer dis-service!

Ok well next time Dish don't send me a letter that says my bill is going up when it is not... They said since I am in the DVR Advantage package that my bill will not go up until my commitment thing is over. Situation back to normal.

I noticed that there is a new package only available to existing customers, the Latino Everything Pack, I wonder which channels will include, since it is $7 cheaper than the AEP, and also if it will be possible to add any HD package to it. Right now you can't add HD Channels to any Dish Latino Package.

Dish can suck my nut if they think I am gonna pay $20 for more than half the channels Directv has. Right now Directv is trying to help me get the NHL Center Ice package for free for the rest of this season so I can finally dump these f**king losers!!!!

"dishHD" is $20.00 and has all the HD channels in your AT package (- movie channels). dishHD Ultimate will be $20.00 and has all the HD channels in your AT package (- movie channels). How are these different.

Depending how this works out I will properly switch to the Essential package. I might lose HDnet and universal HD and will miss them. Those are the only channels I watch outside of my AT package and do not think they are worth $10.00 a month.

I am just happy I will have some kind of choice on what HD I pay for. Even if it is a package for $19.00 without Voom and $20.00 with Voom.

I work at a regional retailer that carries Dish Network. A couple of weeks ago, the Dish sales rep was in the store and casually asked how much interest I thought there would be in an HD-only package for around $35. I suppose that is what the $29.99 package is (plus locals?). Unfortunately I couldn't get any more information out of him. :)

I did confirm that the extra $5 is for locals and is optional. The $10 package is the HD channels with SD equivalents, and then $20 with Voom, etc.

Hey if they give you NHL CI for free, I would switch today too.

The latino AEP is not longer exist, but you can have the AEP with the HD package and you can add the latino's packages for only $12.49,Even if you don't want the HD package but have AEP you can have it for the same price.

I am currently on month 5 of the 6 month free HD promo. It looks like when the promo ends I end up with the Ultimate pack by default, unless I downgrade to the Essentials pack. Since the Essentials pack is only $3 more a month now than the enabling fee itself that is probably where I am headed. I never watch Voom or Universal HD. I hope that HDNet at least is included in the essentials pack. I do watch that one occasionally.
