Price Changes and HD packages on dish website

I am currently on month 5 of the 6 month free HD promo. It looks like when the promo ends I end up with the Ultimate pack by default, unless I downgrade to the Essentials pack. Since the Essentials pack is only $3 more a month now than the enabling fee itself that is probably where I am headed. I never watch Voom or Universal HD. I hope that HDNet at least is included in the essentials pack. I do watch that one occasionally.

i am in the same boat nice to know my bill will go down $10.00 bucks. i could care less about HD Just didn't want the Enable fee.

My package will be
DVR Advantage 200
cheapest HD pack
2 211s receivers
and Skinamax for .01 for 2 years.

Now i feel like i am getting a little back from Charlie....

Scott, I was on the HD/changes page. As my 6 mo. HD promo ends on 2/23/08 I want to go with the HD Essentials pkg. I called Dish & the tech support rep and her supervisor are totally unaware of a $10/mo. HD pkg. I tried to get her on the 2008 changes page, but she only got an error. My question is how NOT to get charged the $20/mo. when my free 6 mo. promo ends. Should I contact CEO?

Those new packages do not exist until Feb 1 so you can't order them yet and the CSR's won't have any way to add them to an account until then.

Well you can most likely count me in as far as downgrading from the $20 package to the $10 package. I mostly watch locals, espn, tnt, tbs in HD. No use for the other garbage...

Thanks, I just don't want to pay an xtra $10 in advance & then have to wait a mo. to get the $$ back. If D is indeed offereing this $10 pkg. it will cover all of my needs as I have the top 250 pkg.

E*** just announced a price freeze thru feb 2009 to keep people from downgrading, but I wonder if it will be after the feb increase or if they decided not to go thru with price jump?
