NFL 2008-09 Season

Can we PLEASE do away with the commercials after the TD and the kickoff??? Add 5 mins to halftime if you want. NFL halftimes are too short anyway. Try going to the bathroom and the concession stand at an NFL game and getting back in your seat before the 4th quarter and you'll know what I mean.

Anders,

your Carolina Panthers could be blindfolded for their game against Raiders next week and win by five touchdowns.

I was right about the Panthers also.

Jake Delhomme is one of the most underrated QB's in the NFL, and he's healthy! And John Fox is a very underrated coach.

IMO, the Panthers- RIGHT NOW- are the second best team in the NFC.

Delhomme, IMO, is a guy who, if you look at past seasons, plays great in spurts- 2003, 2005, this year.

Every so often, he can light it up. This is his year to turn into vintage 2003 Super Bowl-bound Delhomme.

I hadn't picked Carolina in some of their games- now, I have all the reason to do so!

Things are looking good in Carolina. With Raiders and Lions up next there's no reason the Panthers won't be 8-2. If they win their rematch against TB it could put the division away.

Miami ahead of Denver, 16-7 at the half.

If that scores holds up, the last place team in the AFC East will have the same record as the first place team in the AFC West!

I have made good on my bold predictions (Browns beating Giants, Auburn being an offensive disaster, Texas Tech beating Texas), and I am going to make yet another one that I have great confidence in:

The Raiders will not win another game this year.

The spurts have lot to with the Panthers having a running game. When the Panthers made the SB they ran the ball like they were the 67 Packers. The last couple of years the Panthers couldn't run the ball to save their life. That lead to lots of 3 and 10's with the defense blitzing and three guys covering Steve Smith. Now the Panthers are running it well and guess what Delhomme is good again. Sometimes it's just that simple.

Yup. Davis, Foster and Goings were quite the three headed monster a few years ago. :up

With Denver going to Cleveland on a Thursday night, given how bad their defense looked against Kansas City, New Orleans, Jacksonville, and New England,

HD MM is licking his chops. Cleveland goes from playing a rough-and-tough man's man team in the Ravens to the soft-as-cookie-dough Denver defense.

The Raiders had -2 yards of offense in the first half, and now have three yards of offense in their game so far.

THREE YARDS?!

THREE YARDS OF OFFENSE?!

HOW is this team going to win again this year?

I might as well bury the Cowboys.

As much as I detest, loathe, and despise the Giants, I don't see Dallas winning.

Now, it's up to Arizona and Philly to save us from another Giants Super Bowl.

If Big Blue repeats, my head could explode.

??? Carolina plays the Giants in Dec. That game will be huge. Remember the Panthers shut the Giants out in the playoffs back in 2005. If NBC doesn't pick that game up then there's something wrong with the system.
