NCAA Football 2011-2012

I wouldnt mind the majors at 12 each (big 12 included). I am not happy about the super conference (16 teams) idea. Not sure about 14, but I much prefer 12.

I also like the 12 teams but you know that it is only a matter of time until the super conferences are here. I would rather the Big 10 be more proactive about growing so they don't get all of the left overs.

dvx is going to be really mad. The AP reported that a mistake in there poll last week happened and that in fact South Carolina moves up to number 10 and Nebraska drops to 11...

You guys really need to chill out. We all know the SEC is the best football conference. :D

All this conference "stuff" is teetering on the insane...expended-conferences grow into super-conferences grown into 2 or 3 mega-conferences. College football should be more about "student" athletics and less about the pursuit of television and sponsor dollars.

Should? Yes. Has it been for quite some time? No.

naw I've always disliked how pre-season and early season polls looked. It's ESPN's way to hype games is all.

but moving on...

Don't blame ESPN, blame the NCAA, the hundreds of magazine publications, ESPN is only ONE of the outlets that push it, look at ALL the NCAA hype machines, not just one.

Well.... I chose flying into Buffalo over the weekend to see the Raiders/Bills(and to see nearby family, of course.... ;-) Love you Mom!) over the U/Ohio State game.... It was a tough decision, but in the end, neither college team offered me anything... So I guess I made the right choice... ;-) LOL!

That and currently neither team is very good, yet.

lol wouldn't matter either way the numbers of the two are so close... really even most of those in that little area around #10 are close enough to go several spots next week.

I don't see how ESPN is responsible for any of the polls. The AP & Coaches Polls long predate ESPN. Plus neither is even owned by ESPN, as the AP owns the AP poll and USAToday has the Coaches Polls (UPI before them).

Maybe he would feel better about the perceived SEC bias, knowing this week OU became the first team to be ranked #1 100 times in the AP poll.

The Big 12 is dead
Sources: Texas has three viable realignment options
Oklahoma is expected to be joined in exodus by Oklahoma State to become the Pac-12's 13th and 14th institutions.

"There's nothing Texas could have offered Oklahoma that would have changed their mind. They were set on leaving the Big 12 before Texas got there," a well-placed source at a Big 12 school said, adding that Sunday's meeting had a very friendly and cooperative tone. "The Big 12's done. Oklahoma wasn't open to creating Big 12 stability."

Oklahoma isn't anywhere near the Pacific Coast either.
True, looks like they're looking for somewhere that will protect them having the Longhorn Network. Looks like the ACC is a possiblity since ESPN has the main rights along with regional rights as well.

This idea of these teams switching only hurts fans really...those same fans that have to travel huge distances to watch games and cheer their teams on not just football either.

The stadium will be in the same place it always was, they're not going to pick up the Texas stadium and move it to Virginia. If fans don't like traveling far distances to see their team play at other stadiums than they should stay home and watch it on TV.

I have no problem with teams moving or making 16 or 20 team super conferences. There will be top schools and bottom schools, doesn't matter and if a team doesn't make it into a super conference than they aren't good enough and move to a lower tier. If you want to play with the big boys than get better.

Big East Expansion?

When will Ohio State get the final resolution from the NCAA?
