NCAA Football 2011-2012

And the only reason you see it is you are outside the box screaming to get in. ;)

I have no way to prove it, but IF VT were in the top ten, I would wager you would never have took us into this line of discussion. (not yet anyway).

naw I've always disliked how pre-season and early season polls looked. It's ESPN's way to hype games is all.

but moving on...

Never have "taken" us. Gumps. :D

And you quit starting things then telling us to move on. :)

Well.... I chose flying into Buffalo over the weekend to see the Raiders/Bills(and to see nearby family, of course.... ;-) Love you Mom!) over the U/Ohio State game.... It was a tough decision, but in the end, neither college team offered me anything... So I guess I made the right choice... ;-) LOL!

Alot of people dont like them, but I have always said, at least it gives us something to talk about.

Thing about this SEC bias is, it happens every year about this time. Someone (not you in particular) or some group starts moaning about how the SEC is favored here, or there. Then as the season goes on what do they do? They back it up with bowl wins, and National Championships.

So maybe there is a bias after all (if that is what you want to call it), but then again, maybe it is warranted. They have certainly proven capable of backing up the lofty rankings more often than not.

as opposed to some Big XII & Big Ten teams that fail to do so (including the current #1) :p

Go eat a corndog.....:D
Being married to a french canadian I learned something interesting. Up north corndogs are called pogo's.

Buddy of mine and his brother went on a fishing trip up north a few years ago. Kept seeing Pogo Stands everywhere. His brother finally said, I think I'm going to get a pogo. He came back laughing with one and told shouted, "It's a corndog!"

Lol. Kind of like how a hero or grinder up north is called a po'boy in South Louisiana. :D

And here we go again.

Orangebloods.com - Sources say OU board ready to apply to Pac-12

Oklahoma will apply for membership to the Pac-12 before the end of the month, and Oklahoma State is expected to follow suit, a source close to OU's administration told Orangebloods.com.

Even though Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said Friday the Pac-12 was not interested in expansion at this time, OU's board of regents is fed up with the instability in the Big 12, the source said.

The OU board of regents will meet within two weeks to formalize plans to apply for membership to the Pac-12, the source said.

Messages left Sunday night with OU athletic director Joe Castiglione and Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder were not immediately returned.

If OU follows through with what appears to be a unanimous sentiment on the seven-member Oklahoma board of regents to leave the Big 12, realignment in college athletics could be heating back up. OU's application would be matched by an application from Oklahoma State, the source said, even though OSU president Burns Hargis and mega-booster Boone Pickens both voiced their support for the Big 12 last Thursday.

They don't have anything to threaten the PAC 12 with. OU went to them. There is an internal battle going on at OU. Boren wants to go to the Pac, Castiglione doesn't. OSU prefers to stay but will go with OU to the Pac if that is the way it plays out. Mainly for the regional state network.

Well in this years example, the SEC was very careful about not going to A&M as well. A&M approached them. Yet Baylor is still threatening.

who cares? As long as written rules are followed, schools are free to go where they want. As long as A&M follows the Big XII rules, Baylor can pound sand.

The Big East lawsuit agaisnt the ACC went no where, so will this.

Oregon lost week 1 and dropped..yeah we all saw that, they started to climb this past Sat after they "won"...so they climbed. No excuses.
They also got jumped when they are a better team than SC yet SC went right on by them again after beating a Georgia team while having a horrible defense that allowed a 1-AA team to rack up over 345 yards on them - Same 1-AA team that has always played damn hard and should have been in the Big East years ago.

Strength of schedule was always there...even last week when the polls adjusted to reflect scores, stats and so on which did seem somewhat decent. This week on the other hand those same "SOS" was always there and hasn't changed so when I point out a team that both played - SC played at home, VT played away be it 1-AA or not the stats don't lie... also this is Georgia here. Obviously still the same Georgia team that I pointed out got hammered by Boise St on pretty much home turf as well.

yeah yeah..I know about poll placement early which is why I said there shouldn't even be poll #'s this early to start with for many reasons - this is one. Stats are stats..the numbers don't lie for what was put up on home vs away game play so it can be pointed out however you wish.

this part right here just points out exactly what I said - SEC Bias

but really man, we can sit here and argue this over and over - we both see the numbers and we both watch the same games. My argument may have some holes in it as do yours but this doesn't mean we don't have a clue whats going on as I feel we both do.... that's just my opinion and a pretty good one based on what I hear every week from dozens of play callers.

Of course SC jumped Oregon.. SC 2-0 Oregon 1-1... SC Won its first big conference game, of course it moves up over Oregon beating who? exactly.
