NCAA Football 2011-2012

No doubt Penn State has their bad apples just like everyone else, but for the most part they are perceived as a clean program. I have alot of respect for Joe Pa, but he hasnt coached a game in years. He was in the press box yesterday and didnt even have a headset on. They are keeping him on board out of respect and to pad his win total.

I will say that Penn State fans are among the nicest I have met from any team.

They are all arrogant Aholes, even my sister.

That Michigan ND game as a fan of either would have gave me a damn heart attack no matter how it came out way before the ending.... This is a stat I'd like to see how many heart attacks happen in CFB games while at stadiums. I really get fired up either way when I'm at a VT game....i've been to other games for other teams and stadiums also and I've seen so many others get red in the face and what not.... its a hard thing to control when your diehard.

I'm not sure, but real fans have multiple heart-attacks and refuse to let it affect them until after the game. :)

Yeah, I totally agree...! I mean real fans don't even think about "finding another team" when things are bad....as some had suggested... ;-)

This week's polls reflect nothing but SEC Bias... I'm really sick of seeing Pre-season polls to start with, they shouldn't be even putting numbers on anyone till Week5.

How?
And that is a multiple point question. First, how this one more than any other poll this year?
Second, just...how in general.

S. Carolina comes to mind, they moved up over top of BOTH Oregon and VT when for starters Oregon is a better than that I've seen right now than S.C. secondly - SC just beat a team that gave them amazing trouble (Georgia) whom we all know Boise St took too the wood shed a week prior to. SC beat ECU just as VT did while VT didn't score as many points against them they played ECU on home turf and was getting spanked for a good while there with a sucky SC defense...

SC let ECU get by with 345 Total yards in that game.... 260 passing and 85 in rushing.
VT let ECU get by with ONLY 112 Total yards.... 127 passing and NEGATIVE -15 Rushing...

How in the hell do you take SC with these stats against these two teams and put them over NOT ONLY Vt for those reasons I've noted which are FACTS but also over a Oregon team that even though lost to LSU looks 10X better!!?!?!? I'll tell you - SEC BIAS!

Because Virginia Tech is not in the top 10. ;)

Actually the poll seems pretty balanced to me.

Wouldn't matter to me if VT stayed #11 as they gave too many penalties in yesterday's game and didn't look too solid....however read my other post.

There are other flip flops of teams throughout that just didn't seem right so I stand behind what I said that preseason polls shouldn't exist.... we shouldn't put numbers on teams till Week5

Ohh and Can I like your post too!??!?! PURDY PLEASE?!

Oregon lost, sorry but lose and you're going to drop. No excuses.

While both South Carolina and Virginia Tech played ECU, are you seriously saying the 1-AA team Virginia Tech played at home was a better test than Georgia between the hedges?

South Carolina also has a tougher schedule ahead than Virginia Tech, so if both teams keep winning, guess which one will continue to move up? Unless of course you think Duke, North Carolina, and Miami is a better test than Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas.

Personally, complaining about poll placement this early means nothing (as few teams have really played anyone). Any thing can and will happen, and good teams (along with pretenders) will eventually find their place.

I am afraid that when KY plays any decent team that they will get blown out this year. :(

Oregon lost week 1 and dropped..yeah we all saw that, they started to climb this past Sat after they "won"...so they climbed. No excuses.
They also got jumped when they are a better team than SC yet SC went right on by them again after beating a Georgia team while having a horrible defense that allowed a 1-AA team to rack up over 345 yards on them - Same 1-AA team that has always played damn hard and should have been in the Big East years ago.

Strength of schedule was always there...even last week when the polls adjusted to reflect scores, stats and so on which did seem somewhat decent. This week on the other hand those same "SOS" was always there and hasn't changed so when I point out a team that both played - SC played at home, VT played away be it 1-AA or not the stats don't lie... also this is Georgia here. Obviously still the same Georgia team that I pointed out got hammered by Boise St on pretty much home turf as well.

yeah yeah..I know about poll placement early which is why I said there shouldn't even be poll #'s this early to start with for many reasons - this is one. Stats are stats..the numbers don't lie for what was put up on home vs away game play so it can be pointed out however you wish.

this part right here just points out exactly what I said - SEC Bias

but really man, we can sit here and argue this over and over - we both see the numbers and we both watch the same games. My argument may have some holes in it as do yours but this doesn't mean we don't have a clue whats going on as I feel we both do.... that's just my opinion and a pretty good one based on what I hear every week from dozens of play callers.

So you do think that Duke, North Carolina, and Miami are a better test than Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas?

I don't know...I've not seen enough games so far to say either way except Duke has never been good unless we are talking basketball. They did play hard against Stanford just no depth to keep up....shame I was really pulling for them too. I agree SEC seem to always have good recruiting you can't ignore that...but to push a team against another with better stats that was played on the field not whats written on a future schedule isn't justifiable.

But polls are polls.... opinions from people and we all know people can be wrong so meh.. doesn't matter.
