NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Travel, Travel, neither of those teams are going to travel, except maybe next door ....

The Bucks are the ones that will pack the place.
The Bucks traveling is immaterial. The Feista Bowl will want to maintain the Big 12 tie-in, same as the Rose Bowl did last year with the Big 10.

If you look at the history of the BCS bowls, almost always has a Bowl Game replaced it's anchor team (when chosen for the MNC) with another team from that anchor conference.

Isn't there some sort of rotating power sequence to the bowls?:D The Cotton bowl used to be one of the major bowls, but I think it is now second tier following the Holiday Bowl.

The Cotton Bowl didn't pony up enough cash to get into the BCS. That's why the Fiesta Bowl is now a major bowl. The Cotton Bowl moves to Jerry World in Arlington in 2010, and hopes to get back into the BCS in 2011.

I can not believe that the teams in the Big 10 end their season this weekend. Damn that is to early. Are the schools permitted to play an out of conference game next week if they wanted? This is way to long a lay off until they play in bowls. The big 11 presidents are doing these schools no favors.

For some reason they like to end early, instead of Turkey weekend like everyone else.
Plus it gives them an excuse when they get crushed in the MNC. ;)

You do know that it's usually snowing up here in the North at this time of the year? Damn cold, too. We like watching football in warmer weather too.

I just noticed that you're from PA, so I guess that you already know this.

When was the last "relevant" bowl game Miami played in?

Orange Bowl in 2004....

BUT, I love the fact that with all the crap that has been talked here about The U.....they have a possible chance of a BCS BOWL...TWO YEARS EARLY!!!:D:D:D

EDIT: 2 Peach Bowl appearances in 2005 and 2006. BUT, they are not in the same league as the Orange Bowl.

I guess the ACC has risen to the crappieness level of the BIG TEN, haven't they?:D

I never thought the BIG TEN was crappy....I just think they have boring brand of football. It is a very good conference, so is the SEC and the Big 12. To me, that is the upper tear...just a notch below is the BIG EAST, ACC and the PAC-10.

I have no love for conferences per say. They mean NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. I mean I am sure that if MICHIGAN were to leave the Big 10, your allegiance would go with ole Big Blue!;)

I most certainly would. The Big Ten is in a "down" period as are the PAC-10. These things run in cycles, and right now it's hard to argue that the SEC, and BIG 12 are a notch above the rest of the nation. I remember when the BIG 12 and BIG TEN were run- only conferences. Oklahoma with their wishbone, etc... Ohio St. with their "3 yds. and a cloud of dust". Bo Schembechler used to say "there are three things that can happen when you pass, and two of them are bad." Things sure have changed.

Right now, I've found BIG 12 football to be a helluva lot of fun to watch. The BSC (bullshit championship) will probably, (and rightfully so) be between the BIG12 and the SEC.

Just like when the U left the Big East for the ACC, they figured they would have a easier time winning the ACC then the Big East.:)
