NCAA Football 2007-08

They were discussing kicking a field goal, and ITS EASY saying it was only a yard, but you never know.

It was lousy officiating regardless and could have changed the compition for the National Championship game on that play.

I agree with the officiating. It's been pathetic all year long throughout the SEC. Are the refs just slacking since they have replay or what? I know there have been bad calls in the past, and I'm the last one to say officiating would be an easy job, but some of these calls are downright obvious and affect the outcome of the games in most cases.

So reg W/L to qualify for a post-season means nothing? What about the NFL? I just think there is WAY TOO MUCH subjectiveness and unfair/unbalanced ranking; hell the best example so far was regardless of W/L we all knew the SoFla had no business being #2 let alone in the top 10.

the regular season in nfl is diluted just like other sports, a third of the teams make the playoffs in the end

I agree too many teams invited, BUT by the same token there are WAY TOO MANY bowls and to maintain the current bowl championship rotation system, regional sales attractions and league "must" tie-ins, there are too many scenarios were we are not 100% (not ever 90%) sure the top 2 teams really played each other. They prove it each and every year since inception.

yes but by the end of the year when two quality teams play each other,, it is a battle for a shat at a championship and not just seeding in the playoffs

We (USC) got dropped like a rock compared to the others that lost and/or still struggle with a soft sched; hell we all know you throw the rankings out when you play a conf foe. We are still better than most of the teams above us. I can't argue hard against the following being above us:

Ohio St
LSU
Arizona St
BC

but after that?

Yes, I was surprised when they dropped that far.
This week, they played without their starting QB as well.

Personally, I think either LSU or Oregon would be a great game, hell they would be a great game regardless.

Tons of speed on that field. :)

There are now 7 SEC teams in the top 25. Anyone saying that the SEC isn't the best conference in the NCAA just doesn't like the SEC. :D

I have been saying that for weeks. Yet some keep insisting that because their team is the #1 in the country....that makes their conference the better/tougher/best ...
I don't like the SEC, but you gotta give the devil his due on occassion...

The better question is which conf is 2/3/4, etc...

I don't disagree - SEC is tops.

2? Pac-10 looked great for a bit, but has slipped a bit. Same with Big East.

Worst BCS conf? The ACC and Big12 are in a race here :)

Yes and each of the top SEC teams has beaten the other..

And some of the bottom ones have beaten the top ones - i.e, Mississippi State over Auburn, Vandy over S. Carolina. The mid tier teams are also dangerous - look out for Alabama possibly knocking off LSU in two weeks (although I hope not because that would be most humiliating for my Tigers :().

And ALL but LSU and Alabama have 2 or more losses, how tough is that conference when you can have 2 or more losses and still be in contention ....

This is why they suck
