NCAA Football 2007-08

Rumors of Michigan's demise have been GREATLY exaggerated! A VERY good win in Champaign! We will NOW see how good Ohio State is in the next few weeks...

This week doesn't count ???
Every week , it's the same thing we'll see how good they are this week, they go out and win and it's , wait till next week.
D* still has given up only 49 points all year. and only 3 today and they still almost lost it, I guess I should not say they almost lost as they ran the clock out the last few drives and MSU didn't score but a late field goal in the 4th. I guess a 10 point lead late was not really as close as the final looks.
None the less, they need to take care of the ball on offense or they won't be going anywhere.

Ok Jim....They have played NO ONE tough on the road except an overrated Perdue team. They have really not played ANYONE very tough at home except Michigan State...and they ALMOST blew THAT ONE....NOW comes the tougher part of their schedule. They have two VERY tough games in Happy Valley and at Michigan. The play a good Illinois team and a better Wisconsin team at home. So again, they have been very fortunate that OTHER teams keep losing. Boston College has not really played anyone either and THEIR toughest part of the schedule is coming up too. They TOO have benefited from all the losing going on in the top 10.

IF LSU wins this game they can give their paycheck to the official that gave them a first down on the final drive when he was clearly at least a foot short.

edit:
There you go, LSU doesn't score the last TD without the official giving them that 1st down.
IF Auburn had a D* they could have at least put part of it on the field and this may have been a Auburn win and a second LSU loss.

So your going to send a team that has 1 or 2 losses ahead of an undefeated team going thru their own conference ???

Purdue was in the TOP 10 when OSU played them.

This game was not as close as the final score, MSU got a field goal late in the 4th, the D* did not give up anything all day.

Who's your team, and Who have YOU played ?

Please read Jim. Never said anything like that. I am saying that BOTH Ohio State AND Boston College have benefited from heavy losses in the top ten. They are the only two undefeateds and deserve to be where they are. And IF you look at the combined schedule of Ohio State opponents(something like 27-31) and Boston College's (something slightly better, something like 27-28)...they really have not played anyone....AND that the toughest part of BOTH teams schedules are coming up NOW.
My team is Miami...rebuilding none the less. They too have yet their toughest part of their schedule coming up in....#19 Virginia, #11 VaTech and #3 Boston College.

EDIT: By the way, when they beat Perdue...Perdue was 5-1 and ranked #23rd in the country according to ESPN.

My mistake on the Purdue issue, I must have been thinking Wisconsin, they were in the top 10 in the early weeks and have since fallen ... I think they were really overrated, in case your looking for over rated teams.

OSU played a really good game on D* yesterday against MSU. I can't believe that they shut down MSU to only scoring a field goal on offense. I do not know what happened to OSU's offense with those two turnovers in the second half that went for TD's. It was as if the offense just tried to put in on curse control in the second half.

They need to learn how to finish people off, that game was not as close as the score looked, but Mark May from ESPN will tell you otherwise, he's the one that was assigned to take over for Trev Alberts as the official Ohio State basher !

No, that's wrong. Trev Alberts was the official Oklahoma basher. :) He can now be seen bashing OU on CSTV.

That was only 3rd down. On 4th and less than a yard it would've been an easy first with Hester. :D

LSU will have an incredibly difficult time beating Saban and Alabama next week. That's the game that will knock them out of the BCS picture.

Nothing personal Jimbo, but if tOSU is in the NCG again this year, to me that would be the ultimate excuse for some type of playoff system in college football if possible.

Don't know where you came from, but I've been touting a playoff system for several years now, just look at some posts over the last several years.

Playoff ??? Bring it on :up
Jimbo

Most of us here would like to see a playoff. (I did say most not all)

After watching the rankings so far this year, we need a playoff very badly; these polls are so screwed. Both the computer and human polls are a joke. More than normal.

They were discussing kicking a field goal, and ITS EASY saying it was only a yard, but you never know.

It was lousy officiating regardless and could have changed the compition for the National Championship game on that play.

Jimbo

We (USC) got dropped like a rock compared to the others that lost and/or still struggle with a soft sched; hell we all know you throw the rankings out when you play a conf foe. We are still better than most of the teams above us. I can't argue hard against the following being above us:

Ohio St
LSU
Arizona St
BC

but after that?
