NCAA Football 2007-08

Keep in mind, that in most situations, the COACH does not do the voting, usually it's an AD of sorts, at least thats what they always point out when questioned about it ....

BTW, seeing you ARE allowed to vote for your own school, and you HAVE a TOP team, what is WRONG with voting for your team.

Jimbo

I honestly do not think that coaches should be allowed for their own teams...because we are ALL human and we all at one point or another, think with our hearts and not our heads....

Salsa, I agree that the coaches should not be allowed to vote but for a different reason. How many coaches follow every team out there? How can they vote for a team that they may not even be paying attention to. Do you really think that Tressel is paying attention to LSU right now since they are not on their schedule.

HA!! Thank you Jag!! Another reason not to let them vote!!

I'm just picking at you. I'm up here in Mason, so I know all about the Buckeyes and how good they are. In fact, Robiskie is the offspring of one of my all time favorite LSU players.

If LSU can finish things out - which I'm NOT at all optimistic about with Auburn and Arkansas coming to Baton Rouge, and Kentucky and Ole Miss on the road, and then the SECCG (if we get that far) - maybe they meet up with the Buckeyes in the big game. Would be fun!

I gotta admit though, it is nice to see what it feels like to be sitting on top of all the polls!

I thought coaches already could not vote for their own school. Maybe someone else can verify.
Yes, coaches can vote for their own school. There are 60 coaches that vote in the USA Today poll. Looking at the points, LSU got 58 1st place votes and two 2nd place votes for a total of 1,498. That's 60 total votes from 60 coaches including Les Miles.

Is Terry Robiske there ?
I thought he was in Miami ?

I still think Michigan will beat them.... they will be so ripe for the taking it is scary...

Well, michigan will have NOTHING to lose, just like previous top 5 Ohio State teams that a struggling michigan team ruined with a victory ....

I hope it doesn't happen, but I could definatly see it happening.

Long way to Ann Arbor (Nov)

I don't know if Michigan can beat them, but I'm pretty sure that OSU is WAY over- ranked right now. They can't possibly be as good as last year, when they were also over-ranked.

Ok Paul,
It seems we are moving on up the rankings each week, but, if EVERYONE continues to lose, why is it our fault we are moving up,
Someone has to be up there ....

You've got BC and South Florida in the top ten for gosh sakes !

Jimbo

And how is either of these wrong ?

Jimbo
I didn't say anything about them being wrong. The second one I can understand. The first one not so much. Even if the SID did change the votes and didn't tell him, it still looks pretty bad to not know who you voted for.

You think the polls look crazy now - wait until the BCS starts putting their two cents in! With so much more football to play, who knows what things will look like in the end. There's a good chance not one major college program will be undefeated by the end of October - then what will things look like?

Gotta admit - it makes things interesting this year!

Heh - want to see a collective head explosion? Try this...

If the BCS were computed today, UConn would be #22.

I think I heard salsadancer's brain hit the monitor from here... :D

This is why they suck
