Interesting article in SI.coms prep news:

Top 25 college basketball recruiting classes:

20. Florida International
Top 100: No. 48 Phillip Taylor (5-9, 160, G), No. 61 Dominique Ferguson (6-9, 205, F)
Analysis: Talents like Taylor and Ferguson would have been completely out of the question at Florida International prior to Isiah Thomas’ arrival.

Does anyone else find it interesting that the same referees work games 5-7 nights a week ? These middle age men have to work a game, get a nights sleep and get up early the next morning to either drive or fly to a new city to work another game the next night. If you watch as much college BB as I do, you know them by name. I don't know if there aren't enough qualified refs to go around or if these guys(who are private contractors) are just milking it. As a rule, I think officiating has gotten worse over the years and maybe fatigue is one of the problems.

UCLA WTF? UCLA has started the season 2-4 with losses to Cal St Fullerton, Butler, Long Beach St and a 27 point beating by Portland (not the Trail Blazers). Now one of their top players is transferring out and next up they play Kansas. I thought that USC would easily be the worst team in LA this year after the Tim Floyd scandal, but now that may not be the case. This is shocking considering UCLA had recently been in 3 straight FF's and has a ton of former players now in the NBA. This team is terrible. There's no telling how bad this could get.

A typical game is 3 hours long. The average person works from anywhere between 8-12 hour days. Plus, I'd imagine they're getting paid decently and all travel expenses are covered. Sorry, but I just don't feel sorry for them if that's what you're looking for.
