NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

BTW, only Wake remains undefeated.

Last year, Memphis made it all the way to February 24th; how far will the Demon Deacons make it without a loss?
They play dook on the 28th. Could be 1 vs 2. They'll lose eventually, but man they are good. Jeff Teague looks like Derrick Rose.

Solid win for Carolina over Miami. Ellington blew up in the 2nd half for 23 points. Now that he's going good, hopefully Carolina is out of their slump.

It was a good win. Miami gave them an early scare but in the end, the Tar Heels had too much Ellington and horses for Miami.

GREAT win for the Orangemen over the Irish, bad news is, PITT lost to Louisville and they will looking to take it out on somebody.....and they play the 'Cuse next.

That remains to be seen, but what is clear is that NC State were morons to run off Herb Sendek. The guy took them to 5 straight NCAA Tournaments, and has resurrected a horrible Arizona St program.

I work with a State who hates Sendek so much he has told me that Herb could've won the national title for State and he STILL wanted Herb fired.

That's just crazy talk.

FTR, he started hating Herb after State blew about an 18 point lead with about 5 minutes to go against dook* several years ago in the ACC tournament championship game.

Last nights pasting of Syrcause by PITT shows that all these Big East teams are gonna slaughter each other during the regular season. As much as I love the Orangemen, they are NOT deserving of a Top 10 yet....Top 20 yes...

I dont follow college basketball to much in fact hardly ever, quick question about the "rankings" what are they based on? I just wonder how a 16-2 FLA team is not even in the top 25. But I see teams that are 15-4 14-3 etc ahead of them.

EDIT: They are 24 in the AP now.. And not ranked in USA/Today poll.

Good question. Wish I had an answer. I think KY should be in there too.

IF anything, college basketball goes even MORE on schedule and conference than football does! BUT, most teams loads up the 1st 10-15 games with cup cakes and AFTER the new year, they start the tougher conference play.

They take in account strength of schedule and quality of opponents beaten and lost. The SEC isn't exactly a powerhouse in college basketball. I'd imagine they haven't beaten enough quality opponents to be considered in the top echelon.
