It's safe to say Carolina doesn't play a lick of defense. Wake is a good team so this isn't embarassing like the BC loss, but my God people are going to have career nights against Carolina all year.
I think this is why we should all hold off on anointing teams until after they begin conference play....

Well you can't kill a top 5 team for losing to another top 5 team, and you can't rank Michigan St above UNC after the beating Carolina put on them.
Louisville beat Notre Dame last night.

The BC loss was last week. You can't drop the #1 team out of the top 10 for losing 1 game. Carolina fell in the polls last week and again this week. But at some point common sense has to prevail. Michigan St is NOT better than UNC and neither is UCLA. I have a feeling that Carolina will eventually retake their place atop the polls, but for now they are about where they should be.
I've been too mad to post about UNC but I believe UNC's problems go way deeper than lack of defense. They are rumors coming from well connected people that there are serious internal issues going on that is affecting both the team in practice and in games. The issues appear to be similar to the issues that derailed the very talented 93-94 UNC team that lost in the round of 32 to BC. A loss that ended UNC's streak of 13 straight sweet 16 appearances.
In 93-94 clashes between the freshmen (Rasheed Wallace, Jeff McInnis and Jerry Stackhouse) and seniors who had just won the national championship (mainly but not entirely Kevin Salvadori and Brian Reese).
Now it appears that the issues are between members of the junior class and members of the senior class.
I now doubt that UNC will even make the final four. They have the talent to win but it now appears that they don't have the chemistry to do so.

I don't put much stock in internet rumors. This team will bounce back. The 94 team was pretty good too. They swept dook, won the ACC Tournament, were ranked #1 going into the NCAA Tournament and should have gone further were it not for Boston College gooning the Heels out of the tournament. That's a game I'm still mad about.
Jodie Meeks is KILLING Tennessee! 52 points and it's not over yet. He's 10-14 from 3. I've never seen a college player score that much.
EDIT: He finished with 54. You think Tennessee might want to think about guarding him next time they play.

Meeks was the man last night. I am glad I stayed up to watch the whole game.
