NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

Agreed 10000000000%

For all you Tarheel fans thinking this is even possible, remember the following 3 terms:

1999
Duke
UConn

:)

First of all it is Tar Heel, not Tarheel. Secondly, you don't know how much I was pulling for UConn in that game. Thirdly, What happened 10 years ago doesn't have anything to do with today. Fourthly, we haven't had problems beating UConn in the past. :) But I do like UConn. We have the same common enemy in dook.

All that said, I don't think we will go undefeated either. However, I don't think it is crazy to think it's possible, because I do. And I do think we will win the national title. Like I said, our team isn't 100% healthy and will only get better and better as the season progresses.

:up Glad to see another Tar Heel fan on here.

uncrules - my point was that seemingly invincible teams often end up losing. Just so happens Dook and UConn were in play here. :)

UConn lost only TWICE that season and killed almost everyone they beat- not exactly a George Mason-esque giant killer.

Honestly, at the start of that season, EVERYONE would have picked Duke to play UConn for all the marbles.

Hell, UConn was ranked #1 for three months.

This wasn't exactly a giant killer.

UConn survives against Buffalo 66-64. Buffalo had the ball for the last shot but turned it over.

Oklahoma beats USC in what would have been a fantastic matchup in football but was a pretty good basketball game too. Some guy for Oklahoma was wearing a long sleeve shirt under his jersey. Never seen that before.

UCLA and Texas on now. This was a great game last year.

First of all, it's DUKE, not dook. Referring to Duke as "dook" is about as original as those brown loafer, khaki pants, baby-blue button-up shirts and/or sweaters outfits Tarheel fans wear at their home games or that oh-so catchy: Taaaar!.........Heeeels!" chant. Man, I bet it took them a loooong time to come up with that one, didn't it? Call us whatever you want. The one thing we are is ORIGINAL. WE "Cameron Crazies" set the standard for college basketball "environments"...;)

This should make for some fireworks.

I can't disagree with this, sadly

Dook also "sets the standard" for charge-flopping, NBA-flopping, and Vitale-proctology-class. :)

You keep saying this, and you're still not getting my point.

Just like here, again!

My point is - we were a great team, #1 for months, 2 losses going into the tourney (With one of them being without Hamilton AND Voskuhl), AND STILL, NOBODY THOUGHT WE COULD EVEN CHALLENGE THE MIGHTY DOOKIES.

So, that's why we suited up more NBA players this season than any other school?: Fourteen Former Blue Devils Make An NBA Roster - GoDuke.com—Official Athletics Web site of Duke University (I'm NOT saying Duke's NBA players are the best. Let's get that straight from the get-go. However, there ARE some Duke players who are major contributors to their respective teams, which you can't deny) On your "charge" accusation: Multiple defensive players of the year?? Duke fans didn't vote them for those titles.. And for the record; almost every Duke fan I've ever known in my life LOATHES Dick Vitale..including myself. We can't help he loves us. C'mon Cox..you can do better than this, right?

I give 2 craps about "impressing" anybody on here. The love and spirit I have for my team doesn't rest on whether YOU like them, or ANYONE else, for that matter. And what exactly does NCAA success have to do with the NBA? If they go into the "real world" work-force with a degree, fine. If they go to the NBA, fine. I'm an NCAA basketball fan, not an NBA fan. There's a reason the NBA is struggling these days...it frickin' sucks. Oh, yeah..Why not spend your time supporting your team, instead of trying like hell to bash mine?
