NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

On Sunday, third-ranked Louisville was upset by Western Kentucky.

So far, nobody on here has talked about the first REAL upset of the season!

Both were pretty big upsets. UCLA is still the favorite to win the Pac 10 and Michigan hasn't beaten a quality team in over a decade. Louisville losing is a bigger surprise. They are a legit FF contender and they weren't even competitve against Western Kentucky. Still I fully exepct both these teams to be very good. Louisville traditionally struggles early and then hits its stride in Feb. The Pac 10 only has a couple of good teams this year so UCLA will dominate and nobody plays better defense than the Bruins.

Call me crazy, but the Ville losing was NOT a shocker to me.

Padgett RAN that team. A true point center. Really good player.

Without him, I'm seeing a tough ride in the Big East

Yeah Padgett was a good player. I guess they are going through some growing pains. I still think Louisville will get it together and be a force later on.

BTW UConn's looking strong. Thabeet may be the most improved player in the country since his freshman year. That guy could average 10 blocks a game. That's Mutumbo like.

Anyone had the chance to watch Wake Forest play yet? If so what did you think?

They've beaten everyone so far.

They have a soft non-conference schedule- they can easily be undefeated heading into their January 11 game against UNC.

Does anyone know if Carolina and UConn play each other this year? After watching the first three weeks of this season, in my opinion, Uconn is the only team that can give UNC a run for their money. And even that I doubt very much. UNC is loaded even without Hanborough at 100%.

Nope. They don't play this year.

UNC 98 Michigan St 63. Wow. Woodshead. Next time Carolina visits Ford Field we're bringing scissors.

Is it crazy for me to suggest that UNC will run the table and be the first wire-to-wire unbeaten champ since Indiana in 1975-76?
