My recorded program NCIS Sydney had a problem I never saw before. When I hit the arrow right button to fast forward thru the commercials it would skip to the end like it was finished. I could exit and go back and it would pick up where I stopped it and I could limp thru the recording, having to watch the commercials. :eeek Not a problem I have ever seen discussed on here. Hopper 3, newly downloaded version 392. Anyone seen this?

This is not a new problem, and has been discussed at length on other threads. It's been around for a year or more. It affects some people but not others. And even those that do see it don't see it consistently. I myself get it on occasion (H3 and H392).

I have found that his happens more frequently when you press the right arrow button rapidly multiple times (the typical commercial break is 8 presses). So sometimes when this happens on a particular recording, once you get back to the place you left off, pressing the right arrow button more slowly will avoid the problem (maybe once per second). But other times the first press goes right to the end. I've also found that sometimes it only occurs on certain commercial breaks. It's not predictable.

When you can't seem to avoid it, the only strategy I've come up with is once you get back to where you left off, mute the sound until the commercial break is over to avoid commercial brain rot.

Dish appears to aware of this issue but has never official acknowledged it and there is no timeline for a fix.

This issue and the dreadful black screen are probably what I get agitated the most. Both come and go. These problems don't affect everybody.
We have been begging Dish to fix them for a long time. Maybe, it is too difficult to rewrite the codes.

I hope Charlie didn't tell his crew " Don't bother, we are out of business in the near future!"
