NCAA 2013 Football Season

Hey I am with them on that. I mean I had no problem with Alabama getting in, I also wouldnt of had any problem if OkS got in. Personally id of rather seen OkS just so the SEC could once again beat the "best" that was offered to us. Instead we just beat each other up again.

Of course I dont understand the argument saying Alabama didnt even win its division how would they go in.. Because the top 2 teams in the country just happened to be in the same division so only one of them can make it to the SEC title game.

Of course thats what happened a few years back when Ohio State and Michigan were the top 2 teams , they played and then the sec bias came in and Michigan was removed, OSU and Michigan was not allowed to play again because they were in the same conference, then after that the sec was allowed that right.

IIRC, Florida was on the outside looking in at that point ....

I really don't want to rehash all that again, we've been there before, I'm just saying, what wasn't allowed for one conference WAS allowed for the sec

There were different circumstances however.

Over rated or not LSU Still only lost 3 times.. 1 of those was to Alabama.. LSU Beat overranked TCU..... ;)

LSU is a 3 loss team, W Virginia is a 4 WIN team.... Has nothing to do with a thick head.

You said yourself the teams OKs and Alabama beat are basically the same right? I dont agree but you say it is so ok we will say Alabama and Oks each beat the same level teams.. So what is the next thing we look at? The loss... OkS lost by 2 scores to a bottom feeder. A team that is not even going bowling. Alabama lost by 1 score on a last min fluke play, (all credit to auburn mind you for winning) but they lost to an Auburn team who is now playing in the SEC title game.

So losing to a team who will not even go bowling vs losing to a team who will play in its conference title game..... hmm thick head has nothing to do with it. The facts are staring right in front of you. I went to bat for OkS the year bama rematched with LSU but this year I just cant. It makes 0 sense to put them ahead of Alabama.

On the other hand .... are we gonna allow a (potentially) Auburn team that would have 2 losses in , if not for 2 fluke plays that went thier way ?

Well, if things don't turn around drastically next year, the HC needs to go. Although, the rest of us would prefer he'd stay. ;)

Lane Kiffen is on the short list of OCs... His track record as an OC is good, as an HC not so much. and Baylor
OC Phillip Montgomery

Auburn losing the sec has zero chance of making any title game.

So no. A two loss Auburn or missouri has no chance.

Edit: I misread. You are talking about what could have happened in those two games.

Then yes. They won them.

Should OSU be counted out because Michigan COULD have won?

Didn't Stanford show us why Michigan shouldn't have stayed at #2?

Yes same thing, (and we all saw what happened when that SEC Biased put FLA in that game didnt we.... it was a slaughter...)

But yes it was similar and as I said I was on the side of putting OKS in the game not Bama. But was ok either way. Just like if OSU v Mich happened I would have been upset but also understanding, because we didnt do what we had to to get in. Clearly we were the better team though as that was decided on the field ;)

Yea so our OL and OC were fired today.. It is odd that we have had 3 OC in 4 years... Im starting to think the OC is not the problem... This crappy BIg12 coach needs to take his ass back home. We need a new HC.

Hopefully Luke Fickell will be looking for a job soon ...:)

2 Loss Auburn has 0 chance to get in the title game. Theyd be lucky to make a BCS bowl game because Alabama would jump them and it would be Missouri and Alabama in the BCS bowls.

Thats not the argument I'm trying to make. Its applying equal value in the rankings to all conferences. When a team from any other conference loses it drops twice as far as an sec team drops. It always the same old argument, we play a tougher schedule, which is bull. Just look at lsu and a&m all season they hardly dropped when they lost with the same old tired argument that they were good losses. Now all I hear is it was a rivalry game, well some of these conference teams have been playing for over a hundred years, anymore they are all rivalry games.

Absolutely you have to give some credit to the fact these rivalry games mean a little more to players/teams/fans etc and they are usually a lot more amped up. That was the ONLY hope I gave FLA this year vs FSU was soley because it was a rivalry. I still said wed lose but I had a tiny tiny tiny glimmer of hope just because it was a rivalry.

I never thought that Michigan would hang in there with the Bucks like they did ... I kept reading about how they couldn't run the ball and had trouble passing the ball, so when I said earlier about a 100 posts back that I thought 35-10 was about right, thats what I was expecting.

Rivalry raised Michigan's play greatly ...
Bucks Offense was fine, D, just now got to the game. :(

And FLA showed us why OSU didnt deserve #1.. ;) That game was a complete slaughter on both sides of the ball.

They were the only undefeated team, I argued for them to be there, but I also argued heavily against Michigan. There's a huge thread here on that game, was during the first year of the sports forum.

Ya know, I can see Phillip Montgomery moving to Florida, big chance to move up to a Top school and run the Fast Paced offense ... you'll be in love with the O again soon if that happens !

My argument is not about that at all it is comparing OKS vs Alabama. My whole argument was why Alabama should stay ranked ahead of them. That is all.

You bring up AnM and LSU tell me who AnM is ahead of that they shouldn't be? What about LSU? Ill give you maybe Oklahoma with LSU but I dont see anyone else.. But even then they are both so far down the rankings are not going to matter for either teams.

And yes they DO play a tougher schedule. Just look at the OOC records and bowl records. The SEC has had the best record in the bowls for the last 7 years, oft the major conferences (there is a year where the mac had a better win % but only had 2 games). Everytime the game is played on the field the SEC wins the overwhelming majority of the time. The numbers dont lie.

Everyone has a good argument, or think they do. ;) College football is just structured in a way that there will never be a fair an efficient way of choosing a true champion. It will always be a " mythical" championship.

When do the BCS rankings come out? :)
