Gotcha BFG, that page gave me something to do this morning, tables inside tables, inside tables and columns :), boy that tested those HTML skills learned long ago ;)
the only channel I don't have on there is the CBS LA from 148, I qualify for HD locals like those(I live in instant qualifying rural area, yes I am that far out in the sticks :()
I have the CBS NY from 61.5, but I didn't know if I would be allowed access to the CBS LA from 148 also, got the 148 Dish up finally, but no CBS LA
Anyone know if I should be able to get both of those CBS HD channels ??
-Gary
Am told you can have two distant national feeds for each network. However, I saw something that Dish does not "permit" reception from both 61.5 and 148. I have received CBS-HD on each, but never at the same time.

I just cycled through each of the VOOM channels, and as of 3:30 PM Mountain on Sunday, all are still experiencing significant problems. I would watch one channel until the picture would break apart, then I would go to the next. With this approach, I saw each of the VOOM channels freeze and break apart within a 20 minute period! (FYI. My 6000u receiver had selected 61.5 for its source for all the VOOM channels, today--even though I also get 129. So signal strength at this end is not the problem.)
Same here... I have been watching all day and all the Voom channels are not worth watching.

I think they messed with the settings Friday and then took the weekend off.. Probably take the until Wednesday to figure it out...

Been calling in with complaints finally sent in an email tonight... Got the standard auto-relpy:(

Guy Tv's bitrate is mid 9's Mbps and is breaking up the worst

I think it is fairly obvious here that they are getting ready or are in the process of adjusting these Vooms, we shall see very soon

we still need to keep up the phone calls and emailing

these Voom problems have gone un-answered from Dish and to be honest I am not complaining as something is up

I just sent this to mailto:charliechat@echostar.com

Please address the problems with the VOOM channels occurring this last weekend.

Thanks,

Gary,

You are reporting that the HD PPV channel is getting 17 mbs at 148, but only 11 mbs from 110?

People are paying $5.99 for movies that are compressed down to 11 mbs?!? Is this commonplace?

I expected this channel to have the best bitrate of all.

I'm sorry, but $5.99 only buys the 11 Mb HD-Lite PPV channel...full bitrate HD PPV, aka BIGFUHD, will cost an additional $2.99.

Do both HD PPV's from 148 and 110 show the same thing at the same time. I don't have a dish at 148 but am planning on putting on up this week. I have plenty of extra dishes and DP Duals so that will be my project for this week. I may have some problems here in alabama with lots of trees and a 14deg. elevation.

Yes there just mirrors of what you allready see.

Gary, looking at your latest table, I see that HDTV Demo channel is coming from 61.5 at 16 Mbps! What a waste!
I wish they used this bandwidth for VOOM channels!

you and me both, I understand why they have this......oh wait no I dont, every time I walk into sears in rolling acres mall in akron ohio (the only store that really diplays dish network stuff, I dont see this channel anymore they use to have it on all the time, no more though, I mean come on, cant dish do another setup rather then waste bandwidth?!

that or update the channel with some compelling content.. but leave the fishies alone.. they are cool :)
Hey I like fishies! (My sign is Pisces actually) ;)
But I really prefer those shown on VOOM! I hate that big logo on the Dish Demo channel! :D

The HDTV demo channel is mux'd with CBS-East HD. These are the only two channels on that TP, thus the high bitrates. I wouldn't be surprised if this transponder is reappropriated for new content once the east and west coast HD locals are made available to consumers. Yes, there are two CBS-E HD channels showing the exact same thing currently on 61.5. CBS-W is on 129 and 148 right now.

Yes Guys the HD PPV from 148 is only on a transponder with CBS HD LA, so it gets roughly 17 mbps

the HD PPV on 110 is sharing with HBO and TNT, so it gets maximum of 12 Mbps

that is a huge difference, also notice that the HBO and Showtime on 148(they share 1 transponder) are much better than 110, bitrates sometimes 2 Mbps better and less errors

this is why I killed myself all last week, putting a 24" Dish, 25 feet up in the air on a tree to get 148 at my location(elevation was like 10)

it was very worth it for the Showtime/HBO and if I ever want one of those HD PPV

if Dish would treat all HD to 1920x1080i(1280x720p) and 2 per 8psk transponder we would have nothing to complain about at all

What transponder does CBS-W use on 129? I don't see it listed on the Lyngsat site.

Don't know the TP number, but the channel will be 9484. I just called to have CBS-HD West turned on. They say it will take about 24 hours. I have CBS-HD East already. Since I added a Dish1000, it seems that I can add the West feed as well without having 148 bird.

Thats because Lyngsat isnt updated every week! Its up there.. but not avaible to you as a sub yet. its on tp 8 I belive. along with ABC, NBC and FOX :)
Man I wish they would hurry up and release those to us in HD. Is there anynews that if/when they do release the network in HD we could figure out how they will justify for qualification for it? I can get my locals from Dish as I do now but only SD the only people that supposedly broadcast digital TV for me is CBS which they really dont they only upload it to adelphia cable company but for some reason LSR thinks I can get it OTA lol.

Maybe the CSR did not know what she was doing, but when I told her CBS-HD West was on 129 bird and I wanted to add it to may account. She checked and confirmed that I am (still) authorized to receive it, so she put the order in. Will see!
