Dish messing with Voom, All are now HD-Lite 1280x1080i: Discuss this issue HERE!

Hi,

I've been busy and haven't been able to watch voom until last night. It is absolutely horrible. Picture freezing and moving frame by frame, audio drop out, and pixelization (maybe not a real word or term). Majestic seems to be the worst of the bunch. I was watching Spanish League soccer and and the players moved across the screen in pixels.

Is this going on on both the 61.5 AND 129 birds?

I hope Charlie addresses it on the chat (but I doubt it). It would show good will to the HD community though if it was acknowledged.

As of now I do not notice any freezing, pixlization or audio drop out on HDNET , HD NET movies or ESPN which are on the 110 bird! Still seeing it on the Voom channels but dos'nt seem as bad which I'm getting on 61.5. Might be something with the atmospheric conditions, just a thought!

I used to get my voom on 61.5, but I had a 1000 put in as part of the single dish solution. Now my voom picks up on 129. I actually have better signal quality (even in California) on the 61.5 than on the 129. Which there was a way to pick which sattelite I got the programming from.

Why not why cant you just cover the LNB that is picking up the 129 sat? then the box will pick up the 61.5 bird to get those channels no?

I keep hearing all these people abd sites talking about the 962 when there is no such thing. :)

Kind of funny.

Yes Dish will have a HD DVR, but what it is might surprise you. :D

Do you know something about it then??? You're not going to just drop a turd like that and not explain are you?

No! The 61.5 bird is about 60 degrees east of 129 so there would need to be another dish pointing to it!! :)

Actually, I still have the 61.5 hooked up. They wanted to take it down but I like the CBS HD East Coast feed, and one of the education public access channels that's there. Covering up the LNB would not be practical. Way too high up on the roof and kind of defeats the purpose of having the single dish solution for locals.

Same thing here with the Sheryl Crow Soundstage. I also watched Red Dawn on HDNet Movies and it locked up or pixelated several times.

The other odd thing is Soundstage (actually anything on Rave) is usually out of sync (audio/video) between my TV and receiver, but the Sheryl Crow Soundstage is in sync.

Bizarre...the rave fix can stay but the locking up needs to stop.

I can't yet I promised. But I will be one of the first to tell you when I can. :D

so....
- the new Dish DVR will be the Voom DVR promised forever.
- the president of SBCA will be Charles Dolan
- and we will live happily ever after? :)

BTW - My 9 year old daughter notice that the Voom channels profusely inhales. (or SUCKS - but she can't say that...)

I am more than willing to give Dish time to work this out - but will not stick around if it stays as is. (I do LOVE Voom/HD - but with this PQ - would rather have Tivo)

Well, I don't know but this pixelation, drop out, freezing, audio cutout bull sh*t is really beginning to piss me off. Come on Dish I'm not paying $120 a monthis for this!!!

Let's get er fixed!
