2011 Big Ten Football

Just as expected it was another nailbiter between Michigan and Notre Dame. My heart simply cannot take much more of this last minute job turned to heartbreak turned to elation. Instant classic! However, I'll just cut to the quick:

1. A record crowd of 114,804 packed the Big House.
2. Would love to see two night games each year...lots of fun!
3. Seven (7) ugly turnovers betwen the two teams: 4 for ND and 3 for UM.
4. Robinson is not a pocket passer (3 INTs) and will continue to have problems if they don't "modify" things a bit.
5. Notre Dame has a decent team (certainly not 0-2) but they they are plagued by mental mistakes.
6. Michigan offensive looks out-of-sync they way they are using Robinson.
7. What happened to the Notre Dame defense the 4th Quarter?
8. Michigan defense is better...but need some players.

I agree with all your points, especially with Denard there are moments when you are thinking he is not a college qb and the he does some amazing things, he drives your crazy

Just got back from Ann Arbor. All I can say is wow! One of the most exciting games I've ever been to. I was impressed with the whole thing...stadium, fans, atmosphere. Glad I had the opportunity.

Glad you enjoyed the experience. The thing I miss most about not living in Michigan (left to join the service in '81) is following the local sports teams. Although I follow them remotely, and usually attend a couple Tigers, Red Wings and a UM game each year...it's not the same. Additionally, the one thing I tell everyone planning to attend a game at the Big House is that they had better forget about having "personal space" because it's a**hole to belly button - especially when they squeeze in 114,804.

Glad my friend purchased those cushions, at least my arse had room. Still had to lean forward the whole game for shoulder room.. :)

And when the TV guys came on they were saying that it was normally not a very excitable , somewhat quiet place to play football .... Strange, I've never seen it that way, unless they were losing.

I've got to admit, it did get as quiet as it got loud when ND had the upper hand. Those last 2 minutes it felt like someone was turning the volume all the way up, all the way down, then all the way up again.

I also went to that game. I am a big time Notre Dame fan along with my whole family. My grandpa was on the team way back when. He didn't play much at all from what I was told and he passed away before I was even born but it was enough to make my entire family life long ND fans. We are definitely outnumbered living about 25 to 30 minutes from the big house.

I have been to the last 5 Notre Dame Michigan games, both in Ann Arbor and South Bend. I have to say that was the most exciting finish to any college game I have ever attended. Even though I was on the wrong side of the excitement that is what college football is all about. The atmosphere was simply amazing.

It was a heartbreaking last second loss for us Irish fans. I have to say I wasn't completely shocked though. They have had to many games slip away from them at the end in the last few years.

Sat 09/17/11 Arizona State @ Illinois BTN 7:00 PM ET (flip a coin)
Sat 09/17/11 Ohio State @ Miami ESPN/ESPN3 7:30 PM ET

Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, Purdue and Wisconsin roll; Iowa wins a close one; Minnesota loses a close one.

Right now I don't who to pick in the Spartans vs Irish game...I can see MSU winning this one, but I can't see ND losing this one. I am also undecided about ASU @ Illinois...on one hand ASU is playing well and are the 22st ranked team after beating #21 Missouri - on the other hand the Illini are 2-0, are playing at home, and are a better team than people are giving them credit for.

I think Ohio State will win by 10-13 but I haven't looked at how many starters Miami will be fielding/benching. The question to me was how good of a Toledo team did OSU beat. IMO, they beat a Top 30 team...Toledo is that good this year. My other question is how well do they match-up against the Hurricanes? I think the Hurricanes will hold their own for much of the game, but OSU will be too much in the end. Final score 30-20.

I think Toledo will crack the top 20, Top 25 at the very least ... never know how the voters will go with a Mid Major.

You guys can go to the "Chat Room " !!!

Ok you are telling me I can't post here while I was talking about a big 10 game but you can go to the sec thread and talk about the big 10 there? Hmmmmmmm. Ok no problem I won't post here again. You know its not just salsa and Sandra that is making people to want to stop posting in sports section.

I figured I have enough time here that I wouldn't be treated like a noob, guess not.
