2011 Big Ten Football

I was kidding, but what I meant was you are both talking up a team that has little to no chance of beating OSU, "just in case"

Not that you are actually doing that, I mean that is just what I was picking about.

You have to realize that the University of Toledo is a 20 minute drive from where I live, I see the info on the football team and keep tabs on them, they beat Michigan , Purdue, Minnesota and Penn State off the top of my head.
They are very capable of winning.
They have a pretty good QB and a Bilitnikoff candidate WR in Eric Page, this could be a very close game.

The legendary Woody Hayes in his final game at OSU. I don't know which one is worse...the coach losing his temper or throwing a punch like a girl. It's unfortunate that when anyone thinks of Woody Hayes these days their first image is of him punching an opponent and then having to be restrained on the sidelines.

Anyway, let us know when Fickell wins something or is charged with aggravated assult. :)

You are SADLY mistaken ....
When Woody's name is mentioned I rarely ever think of the "Punch" that ended his career, unless it's brought up.

I'm sure that's true for OSU fans but it is the way he is remembered outside of Ohio. Michigan vs Ohio State, Big Ten Football and Rose Bowl are all secondary thoughts. I only mentioned it because I was having leftover roadkill for lunch. :)

Michigan is expecting upwards of 115,000 fans to fill the stands at the Big House tomorrow night in their game with Notre Dame. Yikes! That's a whole lotta people. Anyway, I hope they have good weather come game time. :)

I hate having to watch games on the Big 10 network. Their announcers are some of the worst out there.

I told you all that Toledo would give the Buckeyes a good game ..... Bucks 27 Rockets 22.
Rockets got down inside the OSU 20 yard line before they ran out of downs.

I loved it! That is my type of football. I think most of us were confident Toledo would be more of a test than Akron (a good high school team can compete with them) but I was a little surprised they stayed with OSU so long. I didn't expect it to come down to the wire. I was thinking OSU would start pulling away around mid-late 3rd quarter. I was thinking something along the lines of 10-14 points over by the end. Pretty pumped for the game at the Big House tonight.

Some of them are pretty bad but they are nowhere near as horrific as the 2nd and 3rd teams over at ESPN/ABC. Last week they had some female tennis announcer providing color commentary and she was about as entertaining as a box of rock...and wildly inaccurate. The best thing about BTN is the halftime show where they mostly cover the scores and happenings around the Big Ten. As an added benefit, none the Big Ten announcers are Brent Musberger. ;)

For a while I though Toledo was going to pull off the upset. Of course, everyone is going to ask if Toledo was that good or the Buckeyes that bad. All you can do is win the games on the schedule and let the pundits worry about the nonsense.

This is typical, the normally good teams don't get going full steam in the early games, they win, but not necessarily pretty.

That said, Toledo is picked to be the best of the MAC !

Crazy things happen with ND/Michigan!!!

It's sinking in what I just saw over the last 30 seconds!

Yeah that was one hell of a game. Just when you think one team was about to win, the other team scores. But Michigan worked really hard at the end scoring 28 points in the 4th quarter alone!

Just as expected it was another nailbiter between Michigan and Notre Dame. My heart simply cannot take much more of this last minute job turned to heartbreak turned to elation. Instant classic! However, I'll just cut to the quick:

1. A record crowd of 114,804 packed the Big House.
2. Would love to see two night games each year...lots of fun!
3. Seven (7) ugly turnovers betwen the two teams: 4 for ND and 3 for UM.
4. Robinson is not a pocket passer (3 INTs) and will continue to have problems if they don't "modify" things a bit.
5. Notre Dame has a decent team (certainly not 0-2) but they they are plagued by mental mistakes.
6. Michigan offensive looks out-of-sync they way they are using Robinson.
7. What happened to the Notre Dame defense the 4th Quarter?
8. Michigan defense is better...but need some players.
