The Bengals TE Gersham is better than Heath

Don't look now but the J-E-T-S are in the driver's seat for the last wild card. The Jets are a very live underdog in the playoffs, winning four games on the road the last two postseasons combined. In fact, ITSET* the #6 Jets would play at the #3 Patriots.

*- if the season ended today

yesterday, Colin Cowherd made a pretty bold statement. He guaranteed the Jets to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. With the way they have their running game now working, it's hard to disagree that they are one of the few as that possibility.

I think the two teams that could put the fear of God in ANY team in the playoffs are the two New York teams.

For NYJ and NYG, just getting there may be half the problem. When they face each other on Christmas Eve in the Meadowlands that game will be HUGE!!

McCoy sat out one play and came back in after that brutal hit. You can knock a lot of things about McCoy, but toughness isn't one of them. He's got HUGE stones.

But the team doctor should be fired, he clearly looked dazed on the field and NEVER should have been let back on the field.

Agreed. The medical staff misjudged. Although with concussions, they say you don't start to experience the majority of the symptoms until a few hours after it happens. Not sure if that's true or not as I've never had a concussion, but that's what I've been told.

I disagree that the Jets are a possibility for the Super Bowl. They've been beating on crappy teams. Let's see what happens when they play a real team.

Following game of Denver/Chicago..........

Brian Urlacher: "I guess we got beat by a good running back."

Tim Tebow: "I guess that's a compliment coming from a good player."

Wow. Even in a backhanded diss of Tebow, he still comes out of it with class. How can you NOT root for him?!

This has nothing to do with hatred of your team. If Harrison was on the Carolina Panthers or Jacksonville Jaguars, two of the most sterile franchises in the NFL, and he delivered a hit like that on another player, I'd have issue with that too. The problem I have is the constant excuses Steeler fans have for dirty, illegal hits. Somehow, they're always the victim and everyone's out to get them, but they're never at fault themselves.

Your bringing this on your self.

There are 2 Steeler fans here, Cy and myself.

I haven't said a whole lot about the issue, I've been busy the last few days.

Personally, yes, it was helmet to helmet when you slow it down, and thats not right.

As for the Unnessasary roughness call ?
They made that call because he ended up on his back , outside of the H2H that hit happens all over the field.

The Uneesasary roughness call is redicous because he was a runner at the time. Otherwise he he could act like he's throwingthe ball on every play that he has to run on and get the call.
The majority of your cornerbacks and safety throw thier body at the players now days instead of tackling them, I hate it, but it's the generations thing.

ThenH2H thing I think needs to be looked at as a case to case thing, not a blanket rule.
Some H2H hits are unavoidable.

The LINEMEN have H2H hits on EVERY play ...

There's another one that we were going back and forth on Friday with, but I'm not going to name names. ;)

Never say never my friend. Tebow has proven us all wrong.

I think Denver should just roll with Tebow and the option offense. While the rest of the NFL has transformed to a pass heavy offense, the Broncos are going back to the run. Perhaps they're ahead of the next curve?

Chances are, by next year it won't work, or at least shouldn't work, much like the Wildcat.

So last night my mom calls at around 7PM...here's how the conversation goes...

Me: Hi Mom

Mom: Hi sweetie how are you guys doing?

Me: Is everything OK Mom?

Mom: Yes everything's fine...just calling to say hello.

Me: DURING TEBOW TIME???

Mom: What?

Me: Difficult to explain, Mom...I'll call ya back after Tebow pulls the game out.

The official call was unnecessary roughness, which was the correct call. Defenseless or not defenseless makes no difference. It was exactly as Ed called: "unnecessary roughness". The same call would've been called whether McCoy was a kicker, receiver or QB.

Either way, we'll find out today what the NFL thinks.

the call was for roughing the passer, and several people have tweeted already this weekend they are looking at suspending him...but they are having a hard time because Colt McCoy could have been labeled as a runner and therefore not given the protections of a passer including helmet to helmet..if he does get suspended look for it to word because he was not a runner (again ALL helmet to helmets are not illegal)

edit: here is the call to show it was roughing the passer, not unnecessary roughness

I dont know about the jets, but what I saw from the Giants last night they look like a great team...now is it because they are playing so good, or because the cowboys made them look that way (several blown coverages and turnovers...very sloppy game from both sides at points).

I wish my league would have let me put him at running back, I would have thought about picking him up :D
